Synopsis

PAX RPTED TO CREW THAT THEY HAD HIT ANOTHER ACFT DURING TAXI. DISPATCH CALLED WHEN AIRBORNE WITH SAME INFO. NO DAMAGE FOUND AT DEST.

Narrative

TAXI; TKOF AND CLB ALL NORMAL. NOTICED NOTHING UNUSUAL. APPROX 20-25 MINS AFTER TKOF; FLT ATTENDANT ENTERED COCKPIT AND SAID THAT A PAX SAID WE HIT A PLANE ON THE GND. SECOND COPLT TALKED TO PAX AND TOLD HIM WHILE ANYTHING WAS POSSIBLE; IT WAS UNLIKELY THAT WE HIT A PLANE WITHOUT KNOWING IT AND ALL; BUT IMPOSSIBLE THE OTHER PLANE WAS UNAWARE ALSO. FROM THE TIME OF POSSIBLE CONTACT; WE TAXIED AND HELD FOR TKOF ABOUT 20 MINS AND HEARD NOTHING FROM ATC OR ANYONE. APPROX 35-45 MINS AFTER TKOF; OUR DISPATCH CALLED AND SAID WE WERE ACCUSED OF HITTING ACFT ON GND. WE TOLD OF PAX STORY AND GOT CONFERENCE CALL WITH DISPATCH. WE RECHKED ALL ACFT SYS; FUEL; HYD; FLT CTLS; TRIM -- EVERYTHING NORMAL. I HAD HAND FLOWN ACFT FOR TKOF AND CLB. NO ABNORMAL INDICATIONS. WITH THE FACTS THAT THE POSSIBLE ACFT CONTACT WAS NOT RPTED TO COMPANY UNTIL ALMOST AN HR AFTER; AND AT THIS TIME DAMAGE RPTED WAS A BROKEN ROTATING BEACON; AND THE FACT OUR ACFT WAS HAVING NO PROBS; WE ALL DECIDED IT WAS PRUDENT TO CONTINUE TO OUR DEST. UPON ARR; ACFT WAS INSPECTED AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE FOUND NOR WAS THERE ANY INDICATION THAT THE WING HAD MADE CONTACT WITH ANYTHING. INVESTIGATION CONTINUES. CONFLICTS TO COLLISION: OUR WINGTIP WOULD CLR OTHER ACFT TAIL BY 2-4 FT. BROKEN GLASS FOUND IN AREA BY DAMAGED ACFT NOT FROM OUR ACFT. LENGTH OF TIME RPTING INCIDENT. NO WORD FROM ATC. POSSIBLY IT WAS US. DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. DON'T THINK SO.
