AN FK100 ACR FLT CROSSES THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 33 DURING THE TKOF OF A B737 AT BDL; CT.
Narrative
DEPARTED GATE AT BDL. AFTER PUSHBACK; I CALLED FOR AND WAS GIVEN TAXI CLRNC. I READ BACK THE CLRNC; WHICH INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 33. THE CAPT READ THE CLRNC BACK TO ME; AND I CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS CORRECT. THE CAPT CALLED FOR FLAPS 8 DEGS; TAXI CHKS. WHILE I WAS PERFORMING THE TAXI CHKLIST; I FELT THE ACFT COMING TO A STOP. AT THE SAME TIME THE ACFT WAS STOPPING; I HEARD GND CTL ORDER 'FLT X; STOP.' AFTER HEARING THIS; I LOOKED UP AND SAW A B737 APPROX 400 FT IN THE AIR. WHEN OUR ACFT CAME TO REST; IT DID NOT INTERSECT RWY 33. GND CTL THEN INSTRUCTED US TO CROSS RWY 33 AND PROCEED TO RWY 24. TKOF AND FLT WAS WITHIN NORMAL OPERATING PARAMETERS. I BELIEVE FOR A MOMENT THE CAPT FORGOT THE HOLD SHORT CLRNC AND WOULD HAVE PROCEEDED ACROSS THE RWY IF THE GND CTLR HAD NOT TOLD US TO STOP. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF UPDATING THE FMS WITH THE CORRECT WTS WHICH REQUIRES MY HEAD IN THE COCKPIT FOR THE TAXI CHKLIST. I FEEL THAT THIS SIT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF A CREW IS GIVEN A HOLD SHORT CLRNC THAT 'TAXI CHKLIST' SHOULD NOT BE CALLED UNTIL AFTER XING THE HOLD SHORT RWY. THIS THEN ALLOWS BOTH PLTS TO HAVE THEIR EYES OUTSIDE OF THE COCKPIT.
