Narrative

AFTER DINNER; TOOK OFF MLE (MILLARD) RWY 12. PREFLT AND RUN-UP WAS PROPER. AFTER TKOF; TURNED XWIND. HOW PROB AROSE: LOST ENG PWR. HOW IT WAS DISCOVERED: MEMORY EMER CHKLIST PERFORMED. GAINED PARTIAL PWR DOWNWIND. COULD NOT GAIN ALT. I WAS NO LESS THAN 400 FT AGL ENTIRE TIME. OTHER TFC IN PATTERN. I DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER. CORRECTION ACTIONS: PERFORMED 2 TURNS ON A POINT WITH PARTIAL PWR UNTIL TFC LANDED. THEN WAS ABLE TO ACHIEVE FULL SMOOTH PWR. I AM NOT WELCOME AT MLE; PERSONAL SIT. FACTORS AFFECTING: I WASN'T ABOUT TO LET MY ACFT SIT IN MLE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO WHICH A MECH COULD FIX THE PROB. THEY WOULD HAVE PROBABLY HAVE TOLD ME TO REMOVE THE WINGS AND TRUCK THE SPORT OUT. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: SAID TO MYSELF; IF I HAVE GAINED FULL PWR AGAIN LET'S GET THIS ACFT TO K46 (EAGLE FIELD). LOW PATTERN RETURN TO TOUCH AND GO. FLEW UPWIND UNTIL 500 FT AGL SAME PROB BEGAN AGAIN. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: LOST PARTIAL PWR. TURNED BACK TO MLE. REGAINED TKOF PWR. TURNED 355 DEGS. FLEW OVER 168TH STREET. FAR N. 700 FT AGL. LANDED K46 ON R MAGNETO ONLY. REASON FOR ENG LOSS. MAGNETO DISCONNECTED FROM ENG. PENDING MECHANICAL. I JUST COULDN'T LEAVE MY ACFT AT MLE.
