Narrative
AS WE TAXIED OUT FOR DEP; WE HEARD GND CTL TALKING ABOUT AN EMER LNDG BEING PLANNED FOR A C130 BECAUSE OF GEAR DOOR PROBS. THEY WERE ESCORTED BY AN A7 (NOT SURE). GND COMMENTED THAT THE C130 WAS 20 MI TO THE W AND 5 MINS OUT. WE TOOK OFF ABOUT 2 MINS LATER AFTER BEING CLRED FOR DEP. WE HEARD THAT THE C130 WAS TO LAND IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM OUR TKOF. WE ASSUMED THAT WE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO DEPART AND CLR THE AREA BEFORE THE C130 LANDED. WE CLBED TO 5000 FT MSL AND WERE TOLD TO SWITCH TO DEP. WHEN WE CONTACTED DEP WE WERE TOLD TO TURN TO A 180 DEG HDG WHICH WAS COMMENCED WITH THE AUTOPLT ON. AS I STARTED THE TURN WE GOT AN RA TO DSND AT 3000 FPM WHICH WE DID. AS WE STARTED TO DSND; I NOTICED THAT THE ACFT WAS AT OUR ALT AND WITHIN 1 MI. WE DSNDED TO 4000 FT BEFORE THE TCASII RPTED CLR OF TFC. WE JUST ASSUMED THAT THE TWR AND DEP CTL WERE AWARE OF THE ARRIVING EMER ACFT AND THAT THEY WOULD STEER US AWAY FROM THE TFC AFTER DEP. WE SHOULD HAVE QUERIED THE TWR BEFORE DEPARTING; WHERE THE TFC WAS LOCATED; SO WE COULD HAVE HELPED IN CLRING THE AREA SOONER.
