CVLT CREW LOST ACFT CTL AND HAD RWY EXCURSION AT ACY.
Narrative
DURING TOUCH-AND-GO LNDG ON RWY 22 AT ACY; THE R ENG AUTOFEATHERED WHEN PWR WAS ADVANCED FOR THE TKOF AND AT A SPD BELOW V1. DURING THE ABORTED TKOF MANEUVER; THE ACFT DEPARTED THE R SIDE OF THE RWY AND GOT STUCK IN THE SOD. ACFT HAD TO BE TOWED OUT. OPERATIONAL PROC CALLS FOR AUTOFEATHER TO BE OFF DURING TOUCH-AND-GOES (IT WAS OVERLOOKED ON CHKLIST). PF (PIC) WAS IN R SEAT GETTING READY FOR SOME INSTRUCTIONAL ASSIGNMENTS; THEREFORE DID NOT HAVE DIRECT USE OF THE TILLER. CRM WITH PLT (SIC) IN L SHOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 480391: PLTS WERE CONDUCTING A ROUTINE TRAINING MISSION IN A CLOSED TFC PATTERN FOR RWY 22 AT ACY. TOUCH-AND-GO PROCS WERE BEING CONDUCTED. PF AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS THE PIC; FLYING FROM THE R SEAT. THE SIC WAS PERFORMING PNF DUTIES FROM THE L SEAT. THE ACFT TOUCHED DOWN NORMALLY IN THE LNDG CONFIGN AND THE TRANSITION TO TKOF CONFIGN WAS ACCOMPLISHED. UPON APPLICATION OF MAX PWR WITH BOTH PWR LEVERS; AN INADVERTENT AUTOFEATHER OF THE R ENG WAS EXPERIENCED. THE ACFT YAWED TO THE R AND PROCEEDED INTO THE GRASS TO THE R SIDE OF THE RWY BEFORE THE CREW COULD ESTABLISH SUFFICIENT DIRECTIONAL CTL TO KEEP THE ACFT ON THE RWY. SINCE THE GND WAS SOFT AND MUDDY; A TOW BY MAINT PERSONNEL WAS REQUIRED TO CLR THE RWY AREA. NO INJURIES OCCURRED AND NO DAMAGE TO THE ACFT OR GND FACILITIES WAS NOTED. BETTER CRM MAY HAVE ALLOWED THE CREW TO KEEP THE ACFT ON THE RWY.
