AN MBB BK117 HELI TURBINE ENG DISC EXCEEDED TIME FOR REPLACEMENT BY 22 PT 9 HRS AND 56 PT 9 CYCLES DUE TO COMPUTER TRACKING PROBS.

Narrative

OUR TRACKING PROGRAM HAS A SOFTWARE PROB TRACKING 'CYCLE' RETIREMENT ITEMS FOR THIS PARTICULAR MODEL ENG (LTS101-750B-1). THE COMPANY WHO CREATED THIS PROGRAM (WXWY) HAS NOT YET CORRECTED THE PROB. I HAVE BEEN MANUALLY REVIEWING THE RPTS FOR TRACKING THESE COMPONENTS. I HAVE BEEN OVERLOADED RECENTLY WITH NEW ACFT ENTERING THE FLEET AND NEGLECTED TO REVIEW THIS RPT. THE COMPONENT WAS OVERFLOWN FOR 16 DAYS/22.9 HRS (56.9 CYCLES EXCEEDED). THERE ARE ONLY X AMOUNT ENGS OF THIS MODEL IN THE FLEET. UNTIL THE VENDOR OF THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE CORRECTS THE PROB I WILL CREATE COMPUTERIZED SPREADSHEETS IN A BASIC PROGRAM TO TRACK THESE COMPONENTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE MBB BK117 IS A HELI AND THE OVERTIME PART WAS A TURBINE ENG DISC WITH AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE ON THE LIFE CYCLE. THE RPTR SAID THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE USED TO TRACK THIS PART IS NEW AND DID NOT ALERT OR CALL OUT REPLACEMENT. THE RPTR STATED THE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED IN A RECORDS REVIEW BUT NOT IN TIME TO AVOID THE OVERTIME.
