AIRLINE COMPANY STATION AGENT FAILED TO PROVIDE CAPT WITH COMPANY PAPERWORK SHOWING PERMISSION OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CARRYING A FIREARM PRIOR TO BOARDING.

Narrative

ANOTHER ARMED PAX INTRODUCED HERSELF TO US IN THE COCKPIT; WHEN I HAD NO PAPERWORK. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN TO ME FREQUENTLY AT DFW. THE PAX WAS VERY POLITE; INSINUATED SHE HAD A GUN AND TOLD ME SHE WORKED FOR GOV. I IMMEDIATELY WENT OUT TO THE GATE AND ASKED THE AGENT IF WE HAD ANY ARMED PAX. HE SAID WE DID; AND HANDED ME THE PAPERWORK. I MENTIONED THAT WE SHOULD GET THE PAPERWORK BEFORE THEY BOARD. HE SAID THAT AT LEAST HE TOLD HER TO INTRODUCE HERSELF TO THE COCKPIT. I MENTIONED THAT I DON'T LIKE PAX TELLING ME THEY HAVE A GUN WHEN I DON'T HAVE PAPERWORK. THE AGENT ONLY WANTED TO KNOW IF THAT SCARED ME; HE ASKED ME TWICE. I RESPONDED THAT IT DID NOT SCARE ME; RATHER IT CONCERNED ME. I THEN RETURNED TO THE COCKPIT. SINCE THIS INCIDENT IS CONTRARY TO PART I; IS IT IN VIOLATION OF FARS? SHOULD I REFUSE THE PAX IN THE FUTURE? THIS WOULD SEEM TO ME TO BE ONLY PUNISHING THE PAX; WHO WAS ONLY FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HELP TO TALK TO THE AGENTS ABOUT IT AND I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT WITH THEM. THEY ALL TELL ME THAT THEY ARE REALLY BUSY AND THAT IT IS HARD TO KEEP TRACK OF THE PAX BEFORE BOARDING (IT WAS A FULL FLT); BUT ALL I NEED IS THE PAPERWORK AND THEN THE PAX IN QUESTION CAN BOARD ANY TIME. RIGHT.
