SF34 CAPT TOOK OFF WITHOUT A VALID COMPANY FLT RELEASE.
Narrative
TOOK OFF OF WACO; TX (ACT). WE GOT A CARGO DOOR LIGHT ON CENTRAL WARNING PANEL. WE RETURNED TO LAND RIGHT AWAY. IN THE TFC PATTERN; THE WARNING WENT AWAY; BUT THE CAPT WANTED TO LAND AND HAVE THE GND PERSONNEL CHK THE DOOR. WE LANDED SAFELY. THE DOOR WAS SECURE. IT MUST HAVE BEEN IN THE SENSOR SYS. NOW TO THE PROB. I QUESTIONED THE CAPT ABOUT CALLING DISPATCH WITH THE SIT. HE REFUSED. HE SAID THAT HE WAS TALKING TO OPS ON THE RADIO. I DID NOT HEAR WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE I WAS MAKING A PA TO OUR PAX AND THE FLT ATTENDANT; INFORMING THEM OF THE SIT. I WAS ALSO TALKING TO THE GND CTLR IN WACO TWR ON THE OTHER RADIO. I TOLD THE CAPT I THOUGHT WE NEEDED TO GET A NEW FLT RELEASE BEFORE WE LEFT. HE SAID WE DID NOT. WE LEFT ACT AND HAD AN UNEVENTFUL FLT TO DFW. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE FLT WAS SAFE. THAT IS NOT MY SIT. AFTER LNDG AT DFW; I REVIEWED THE COMPANY MANUAL; AND READ THAT WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A NEW RELEASE BEFORE WE LEFT WACO THE SECOND TIME. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAPT WAS SAYING TO OPS. HE MAY HAVE RECEIVED A VERBAL RELEASE BEFORE WE LEFT; BUT I AM NOT SURE.
