AFT LOADING JET BRIDGE STRIKES HORIZ STABILIZER OF B737-200 WHEN THE BRIDGE WAS PROGRAMMED FOR A B737-300.
Narrative
AFTER WE PARKED AT THE GATE WITH A NEW BOARDING SYS (DUAL BRIDGE); THE JETWAY PULLED UP TO THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AFT BOARDING BRIDGE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE LEFT STABILIZER. THE OPS AGENT DID NOT PROGRAM THE JETWAY FOR MODEL AIRCRAFT THAT I WAS IN. I WAS IN A B737-200 MODEL AND THE JETWAY WAS PROGRAMMED FOR A B737-300. I STOPPED MY AIRCRAFT ON THE SPOT WHERE MY MARSHALLER TOLD ME TO. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM 485633: BOTH THE CAPT AND I WERE CLRING THE SAFETY ZONE AS WE PULLED INTO THE GATE. I LOOKED UP AT THE DBB SIGN AS WE PULLED ABOUT HALFWAY INTO THE SAFETY ZONE AND SAW THAT IT WAS FLASHING B737-300. I STATED IN A NORMAL AND CASUAL TONE OF VOICE THAT; 'THE SIGN SAYS 300; WE'RE A 200.' I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE CAPT HEARD ME BECAUSE I DID NOT HEAR A RESPONSE. BY THIS TIME WE WERE STOPPED AT THE GATE. WE CONTINUED WITH NORMAL SHUT DOWN PROCS; AND PREPARED FOR THE NEXT FLT. I LEFT THE COCKPIT ABOUT 5 MINS LATER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR JETWAY WAS SWUNG INTO POS AND HIT THE ACFT'S L HORIZ STABILIZER. THE FOLLOWING ARE WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE CAUSES OF THIS INCIDENT: THE JETWAY BEING SET TO THE WRONG TYPE ACFT WAS THE MAIN CAUSE. INABILITY BY CREW TO REVIEW A NEW AND SELDOM USED PROC DUE TO WX SIT AT THE FIELD; CONTRIBUTED TO PREVENTING THE GND CREW FROM NOTICING THE ERROR.
