Narrative
I HAVE BEEN ON THE LATE RESERVE LIST OF XA00 TO XG59 FOR SEP/00 AND OCT/00. ON OCT/XA/00; ON DAY 2 OF 5; LATE RESERVE LIST CREW SCHEDULER CALLED AT XF00 AND TOLD ME THAT MY LATE RESERVE LIST WAS CANCELED AND I WAS ASSIGNED A 3-DAY SEQUENCE WITH AN XA53 SIGN-IN. I DIDN'T THINK I COULD GET MY REST; BUT CREW SCHEDULER SAID IT WAS LEGAL TO CHANGE MY RESERVE LIST; SO I TRIED TO GET MY REST. I DID NOT. I HAVE PREPARED MYSELF ON THE LATE RESERVE LIST TO BE AWAKE; SO WHEN I HAD TO GET UP FOR THE SEQUENCE; I SLEPT VERY LITTLE. ENRTE TO DFW; I CALLED DISPATCH AND SAID I NEEDED TO BE REMOVED DUE TO FATIGUE. I DID NOT FEEL SAFELY RESTED FOR THE SECOND LEG. AT DFW; CREW TRACKING SAID I HAD TO CALL MY CHIEF PLT BEFORE THEY COULD PUT ME ON A FLT BACK TO BASE. WHY DID I HAVE TO CALL MY CHIEF PLT WHEN CALLING IN FATIGUED? I CALLED CONTRACT AT THE UNION TO GET RESERVE LIST REASSIGNMENT CLARIFIED. SCHEDULING IS ALLOWED TO QUICK CONVERT A RESERVE AVAILABILITY PERIOD WITH AN EARLY RELEASE OF 12 HRS. I DON'T KNOW HOW WE ARE SUPPOSED TO QUICKLY CONVERT OUR BODY CLOCK. IF YOU FEEL UNABLE TO GET YOUR REQUIRED REST; YOU ARE TO CALL IN FATIGUED; KNOWING THAT AT LEAST THE FIRST LEG OF YOUR SEQUENCE WILL BE CANCELED AND MANY PAX AND FELLOW CREW MEMBERS' TRIPS CHANGED OR CANCELED. YOU WILL NOT LOSE SICK DAYS; BUT THE PRESSURE IS VERY GREAT TO GO TO WORK FATIGUED WHEN YOU SHOULDN'T. I FEEL MY ACR STILL DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH PLTS TO OPERATE WITH THE NEW RESERVE LIST AS THEY ARE INTENDED TO BE OPERATED.
