SCT CTLR SEPARATES 2 ACR ACFT LNDG LAX AFTER BEING XFERRED BY ANOTHER ADJACENT CTL SECTOR WITH LTSS.
Narrative
A B747 (X) HVY WAS GIVEN AN ILS TO RWY 25L AT LAX. ACR Y WAS TURNED ON 4 MI IN-TRAIL AND CROSSED HUNDA INTXN LESS THAN 5 MI IN-TRAIL; LESS THAN 1000 FT ABOVE. ACTUAL ALT AT HUNDA WERE 3500 FT FOR THE B747 AND 4000 FT FOR THE C120 (Y). I CALLED THE ASSOCIATE HDOF POS; UPON SEEING THE OPERROR AND ASKED IF VISUAL SEPARATION WAS BEING APPLIED. HE RESPONDED WITH I DON'T KNOW.' THEN OFF RECORDED LAND LINES; I ASKED 'DO WE NEED SCRATCH PAD ON ACR Y.' THIS DENOTES (SCRATCH PAD) THAT VISUAL SEPARATION IS BEING APPLIED. I WAS TOLD 'YOU TELL US.' BY THE TIME I COULD TALK TO ACR Y (RADIO COMS XFER); THERE WAS 5 MI BTWN ACFT. I REPEATEDLY CALLED ACR Y POINTING OUT THE B747 AHEAD AND INITIATED A HDOF TO DEP. THEY ACCEPTED THE HDOF. WITH THE B747 LESS THAN 1 MI FROM TOUCHDOWN; I TRIED ONE LAST TIME TO EFFECT VISUAL SEPARATION AND ACR Y RPTED THE B747 'IN SIGHT.' I INSTRUCTED ACR Y TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION AND CLRED HIM FOR A VISUAL APCH. I THEN NOTIFIED DEPS THAT ACR Y WAS NOT GOING AROUND AND MODIFIED THE POS TAG BACK TO AR1'S SYMBOL. I BELIEVE MGMNT SAW THE ERROR AND BOTH AR1 AND AH1 WERE AWARE OF THE LOSS OF SEPARATION. ACR Y HAD LESS THAN 6 MI BEHIND THE B747.
