A C560 FLC TAXIES PAST THE DESIGNATED HOLDING POINT BRAVO WHEN FOLLOWING AN ACR MD80 AT BOS; MA.
Narrative
DURING TAXI FOR DEP FROM BOS ARPT; WE FAILED TO STOP AT OUR ASSIGNED TAXI POINT. WE WERE PARKED ON THE GA RAMP NEXT TO TXWY K. THE GND CTLR TOLD US TO FOLLOW AN MD80 TO THE BRAVO HOLD POINT. I WAS NOT SURE WHERE THE BRAVO HOLD POINT WAS; EVEN THOUGH I WAS LOOKING AT THE ARPT DIAGRAM. THEN GND CLRED AN AIRBUS OFF OUR L WING TO FOLLOW US; SO I TOLD THE COPLT TO FOLLOW THE MD80 WHILE I LOOKED FOR THE BRAVO HOLD POINT. UNFORTUNATELY; THE HOLD POINT WAS VERY CLOSE TO WHERE WE STARTED OUR TAXI AND THE TWR CTLR WE WERE MONITORING INFORMED US WE HAD MISSED THE HOLD POINT. THE TWR CTLR SWITCHED US TO ANOTHER TWR CTLR AFTER GIVING US TAXI INSTRUCTION TO RWY 9. IT WAS A MISTAKE TO EVER MOVE THE ACFT WITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY WHERE WE WERE GOING BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO INTERFERE WITH THE FLOW OF DEPARTING NOR BOTHER A VERY BUSY GND CTLR. I THOUGHT I WOULD EASILY FIND THE HOLD POINT BEFORE WE REACHED IT. MY EFFORT TO LOCATE THE POINT WAS SLOWED BY ME ACCOMPLISHING NUMEROUS TAXI CHKS. IN THE FUTURE; I WON'T MOVE UNTIL ALL TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AND CLRNCS ARE LOCATED AND I AM GOING TO ADJUST THE CHKLIST SO ONLY THE CHKS THAT 'HAVE TO BE DONE' TAXIING ARE ACCOMPLISHED. THIS WILL ENABLE ME TO PUT 100% OF MY EFFORT INTO TAXIING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 489011: IN RETROSPECT; I THINK WE ASSUMED THE ACR JET WAS ALSO GOING TO HOLD AT THE BRAVO HOLD POINT SO WE FOLLOWED HIM AND CONTINUED WITH THE BEFORE TKOF CHKS INSTEAD OF MAINTAINING A WATCHFUL EYE TO ARPT MARKINGS.
