Narrative
WE CHKED IN WITH MIAMI APCH AND WERE TOLD TO EXPECT ILS RWY 9L AT FLL INTL. WE SET UP AND BRIEFED THE APCH AS A VISUAL BACKED UP WITH THE ILS. AFTER AN INITIAL HEADING TO JOIN THE LOC WE WERE ASKED TO SLOW TO 150 KTS. WE WERE FOLLOWING A B1900; AND TO CALL THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE SLOWED AND CALLED THE ARPT IN SIGHT. WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO SEE THE BE1900 ON THE TCASII AND VISUALLY. WE WERE THEN ASKED TO SLOW TO FINAL APCH SPD AS WE WERE STILL GAINING ON THE BE1900. WE WERE STARTING TO HAVE A HARD TIME SEEING THE OTHER ACFT DUE TO THE BACKGROUND OF GND LIGHTS. THE BEFORE LNDG CHK WAS DONE. WE WERE REALLY STRUGGLING TO SEE THE B1900 AT THIS TIME. IT WAS JUST CLRING THE RWY; WE DID FINAL CHK; TOUCHED DOWN AND ROLLED OFF AT OUR NORMAL SPOT. FO THEN REALIZED HE HAD NOT BEEN ON TWR FREQ AS IT WAS STILL IN STANDBY. WHEN WE SWITCHED FREQ THE TWR ADVISED US TO TAXI TO GATE WITH HIM AND ASKED IF WE HEARD HIM CALLING US ON FINAL. NETHER THE FO; OR MYSELF REMEMBER THE APCH CTLR TELLING US TO GO TO TWR FREQ. BOTH OF US WERE FOCUSED ON WATCHING THE OTHER TFC WE FORGOT TO INITIAL THE XFER OF THE RADIO.
