A B737-300 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH KNOWN WIRING DISCREPANCIES AFFECTING RADIO ALTIMETERS; FLT DIRECTORS AND YAW DAMPER.
Narrative
PICKED UP ACFT XYZ FOR FLT ABC; ZZZ-XXX. RELEASE HAD 4 MELS (CAT III NOT AUTH; GPWS INOP; LNDG LIGHT EXTENDED; YAW DAMPER INOP I BELIEVE). DISPATCH WAS CONSULTED ABOUT XXX. WX RIDE RPTS/FUEL FOR FLT AS WELL AS FLT DIRECTOR. WX WAS GOOD VFR FOR SHORT FLT. ON DEP CAPT'S FLT DIRECTOR BARS BIASED OUT OF VIEW. ON CLBOUT ALT WHILE LATER FO'S FLT DIRECTOR DID THE SAME. AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS BOTH WERE PUT ON IN WORKING ORDER. CAPT RADIO ALTIMETER INOP FLAG THEN CAME ON WITH ALTIMETER NEEDLE CONTINUING TO CYCLE. QRH WAS REVIEWED AGAIN AND WE WERE APCHING XXX. TURNING ONTO FINAL WHEN INTERCEPTING LOC BOTH FLT DIRECTORS BIASED OUT OF VIEW AGAIN. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. ON TAXI IN A CHK OF FLT DIRECTOR SYS WAS MADE (BOTH FLT DIRECTOR SWITCHES PUSHED HEADING SELECTED). FLT DIRECTORS DROPPED THEN IMMEDIATELY BIASED OUT OF VIEW AND WOULDN'T TAKE HEADING SELECT. UPON ARR AT GATE DISPATCH WAS CONTACTED FOR A 3-WAY PHONE PATCH TO MAINT. DURING 3-WAY PHONE PATCH AFTER EXPLAINING WHAT HAD BEEN EXPERIENCED AND TRIED. COMMENT FROM WXX IN MAINT WAS HE HAD WANTED TO GND ACFT DAY BEFORE AND HAD BEEN OVERRIDDEN BY SOMEONE. ACFT HAD JUST COME OUT OF HVY MAINT AND HAD A WIRING PROB. YAW DAMPER MODULE HAD BEEN CHANGED THAT DIDN'T HELP THAT PROB. ALL PROBS WERE ELECTRICAL AND NOT INTERRELATED. HE SAID SOMETHING WRONG ON WIRING. WE WERE ADVISED ACFT BCD WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR OUR FLT ABC XXX-ZZZ. WHEN ASKED ABOUT XYZ I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE MAINT FERRIED. I THEN CONFIRMED WITH DISPATCH I WOULD WRITE-UP MAINT LOGBOOK ITEMS AS HAD JUST BEEN DESCRIBED TO BOTH MAINT AND HIMSELF. UPON ARR IN ZZZ PLT'S GROUP REPRESENTATIVE WAS CONTACTED TO MAKE SURE CREW WHO WAS GOING TO FERRY XYZ WERE INFORMED OF SIT AND ACFT HISTORY ABOUT PHONE CALLS WITH DISPATCH; AND MAINT.
