Narrative
RESTR AREA. ON J6 WBOUND APCHING HEC VOR; PF WAS CAPT USING GPS; PNF BACKING UP USING RAW DATA. ZLA TURNED US 10 DEGS R;- THEN DIRECT HEC AND HANDED OFF TO ANOTHER SECTOR. NEW CTLR TURNED US 10 DEGS R THEN DIRECT HEC. SEVERAL MINS LATER; TURNED US APPROX 20N DEGS R THEN DIRECT HEC FOR RESTR AIRSPACE. AGAIN TURNED US APPROX 30 DEGS R AND SAID WE KEPT DRIFTING. WIND APPROX 130 KTS AT FL280. THEN CLRED DIRECT HEC; WHICH IS APPROX 60 DEGS OFF OUR L. DURING OUR TURN OUTBOUND TO PMD; CTR SAID WE WERE 7 MI IN RESTR AIRSPACE. ANOTHER TURN NBOUND THEN DIRECT PMD. BOTH GPS AND/OR SHOWED US OVER HEC VOR. NO FURTHER PROBS TO PMD. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 491739: FLT DFW-BUR. EARLY IN FLT; CLRED DIRECT TO PMD. E OF HEC; RECEIVED A VECTOR TO TURN R TO CLR RESTR AREA; THEN WERE RECLRED DIRECT HEC-PMD. AFTER FREQ CHANGE; 2 MORE BRIEF VECTORS TO THE R WERE GIVEN FOLLOWED BY A TURN BACK TO HEC. NEARLY OVER HEC; WE WERE ADVISED BY ZLA WE KEPT DRIFTING L AND WE WERE IN THE RESTR AREA. FO VOR SHOWED HEC OFF THE R WING WHILE FOLLOWING A CTR TURN TO R. DME WAS 7.4 AT FL260. CAPT GFMS MAP DISPLAY SHOWED A L TURN TO HEC04 THEN A 60-70 DEG TURN R TO PMD. WINDS WERE STRONG AT FL260 CONSISTENTLY INDICATING FROM 280 DEGS AT 120-130 KTS. NO VOR/GFMS AGREEMENT PROBS WERE NOTED PRIOR TO OR AFTER THE CALL FROM CTR.
