Narrative

THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN SOME SORT OF DATABASE OR COMPUTER PROCESSING MALFUNCTION. WE INITIALLY LOADED RWY 34 AS THE APCH FOR CYYC. THE COMPUTER DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT LOC FREQ AND COURSE (IT SHOWED 109.9 AND 060 DEGS). AERO CHART FOR CALGARY 11-1 SHOWS 111.5 AND 345 DEGS. THEY WERE USING BOTH RWYS 34 AND 28 FOR LNDG. WE ELECTED TO CHANGE TO RWY 28. APCH CTL CLRED US TO TRACK THE LOC INBOUND AND TO CROSS HENRI (11 DME ON IAQ LOC) AT 5000 FT (1400 FT AGL). THE ACFT WAS ON AUTOPLT AND AUTOTHROTTLE. THE APCH HAD BEEN ACTIVATED; APCH PUSH BUTTON ARMED; AND AUTOPLT CONNECTED AND THE AUTOTHROTTLES RECHKED. WE WERE AT FLAPS 2 DEGS AND SELECTED SPD OF 180 KTS. THE GS WAS JUST STARTING TO COME TO LIFE. JUST AS WE CROSSED HENRI AND LEVELED AT 5000 FT; THE ACFT 'SELF-INITIATED' A GAR. WE GAINED ABOUT 400 FT BEFORE I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND VERY SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE AUTOTHROTTLES. WE DSNDED BACK TO 5000 FT WHILE MAINTAINING THE LOC TRACK. THE ARPT WAS NOW CLRLY IN VIEW. WE ELECTED TO CONTINUE THE APCH ON MANUAL RAW ILS DATA; AUTOPLT AND AUTOTHROTTLE OFF. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. ADVISED MAINT CTL OF PROB. SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED BOTH MCDU'S AND FMGC'S. NO ECAM MALFUNCTIONS WERE EVER INDICATED.
