A CL601 REQUIRED INSPECTION PER AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE. IT WAS OVER FLOWN IN NON COMPLIANCE; DUE TO ERROR IN THE COMPUTER ASSISTED MAINT PROGRAM.
Narrative
IT WAS DISCOVERED DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION THAT THE ACFT LOGBOOK CONTAINED A PREVIOUS ENTRY SPECIFYING THAT THE VISUAL INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE ZY-AZ-YZ HAD BEEN COMPLIED WITH AT THAT TIME; BUT THE NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING INSPECTIONS ALSO CALLED OUT WERE NOT. THESE NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING INSPECTIONS WERE LISTED AS NOT DUE FOR ANOTHER 94 LNDGS. (400 LNDGS IS THE RECURRENCE INSPECTION PERIOD.) ACFT TRACKING PROGRAM (MAINT) IS COMPUTER ASSISTED MAINT PROGRAM SYS. THE VISUAL INSPECTIONS ARE LISTED UNDER THEIR OWN TRACKING CODES BUT THE NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING IS NOT. THE WORK CARD HAD A CONCURRENT SIGNOFF FOR THE VISUAL INSPECTION; ASSOCIATED SVC BULLETIN AND THE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE. IT WAS INTENDED TO SIGN OFF THE VISUAL INSPECTION ONLY. DURING DATA ENTRY; THE CODES FOR ALL 3 TASKS WERE UPDATED. SINCE THE AIRWORTHINESS WAS ENTERED AS COMPLETED; TRACKING THROUGH COMPUTER ASSISTED MAINT PROGRAM (PRIMARY MAINT TRACKING SOURCE) BEGAN. NO ONE LIST; OR PROJECTED MAINT SHEETS; SHOWED THE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE AS BEING PARTIALLY COMPLIED WITH. UPON DISCOVERY OF A POSSIBLE OVERFLY; IMMEDIATE ACTION WAS TO COMPLETE NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING INSPECTIONS PRIOR TO FURTHER FLT. AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION THROUGH FBO INSPECTION AND COMPUTER ASSISTED MAINT PROGRAM COMPLIANCE FORMS EXIST.
