Narrative
LATE NIGHT MAINT FERRY; PUSHING 14 HRS OF DUTY; EXHAUSTED. AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT; CAK APCH IS NOT OPEN; SO ZOB ASKED WHAT APCH WE WERE PLANNING. WE ASKED FOR VECTORS OUTSIDE OF EGGII FOR THE ILS 23. ZOB TURNED US DOWNWIND; WE WERE 5 MI PAST EGGII AND ASKED TO BE TURNED INBOUND. CTLR SAID 'TURN L 290 DEGS CLRED APCH.' WELL 'CLRED APCH' MEANS OUR CHOICE; BUT WE DIDN'T WANT TO FLY A FULL APCH; SO I ASKED CTLR TO VERIFY CLRED FOR A 'STRAIGHT-IN ILS RWY 23 AT CAK.' HE REPLIED 'L 250 DEGS NOW; 3200 FT TILL ON A PUBLISHED SEGMENT; CLRED APCH.' AGAIN CTLR DIDN'T STATE THE PROC; SO I READ BACK THE CLRNC WITH THE PROC INCLUDED. CTLR HANDED US OFF TO TWR SHORTLY THEREAFTER. I WAS TIRED; COULD BARELY PAY ATTN; WAS SLURRING ON THE RADIO; AND WAS DEALING WITH A CAPT WHO DOES WHAT HE WANTS; SO AS I WAS TRYING TO CLR UP OUR CLRNC; HE DECLARED (AND TURNED) THAT HE WAS JUST 'GONNA GO TO EGGII.' I HOPE WE DID WHAT THE CTLR WANTED; BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME I COULD NOT GET HIM TO VERIFY A STRAIGHT-IN ILS CLRNC.
