A NEAR GEAR UP LNDG WITH PROP STRIKES ON THE GAR BY A CHARTER PLT IN A BE58 AT EST; IA.

Narrative

ACFT INCIDENT ON MAR/XA/01 AT THE ESTHERVILLE; IA; ARPT AT AB45. I PERFORMED A TEST FLT THE NIGHT BEFORE AT SPW AND NOTED THAT THE THROTTLE WARNING HORN WAS A LITTLE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT; BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE. ON THE MORNING OF MAR/XA/01; I RPTED IN AN EARLY MORNING FOR AN EARLY MORNING DEP ON A CHARTER FROM SPW-EST-AXA-DVN-STL-DVN-AXA-EST. THE WX WAS GOOD FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. AFTER BEING CLRED FOR A HIGH DSCNT FOR LNDG AT DAVENPORT; IA; THE GEAR HORN WAS ON FOR A LONG TIME. I MADE THE MISTAKE OF DISABLING THE GEAR WARNING HORN SO THE PAX WOULD NOT HAVE TO LISTEN TO IT GOING OFF; BUT ON RETURNING TO ESTHERVILLE THERE WAS A LOT OF TRAINING ACFT IN THE PATTERN AT SUNSET. SO IN THE LNDG PATTERN; I SOMEHOW MISSED THAT THE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN UNTIL SHORT FINAL. ON LAST CHK TO MAKE SURE THE GEAR WAS DOWN; I DISCOVERED THAT IT WASN'T. SO I WENT AROUND AND LANDED AGAIN; AND TAXIED IN AND DID A WALK AROUND THE AIRPLANE; AND DISCOVERED THE PROP DAMAGE. THE PAX WERE UNAWARE THAT SOMETHING HAD HAPPENED UNTIL AFTER THE WALK AROUND THE PLANE. I'M SORRY THIS HAPPENED; AND FOR THE DAMAGE TO THE BARON.
