A B190 CREW TOOK RWY; LINING UP ON THE RWY EDGE LIGHTS INSTEAD OF THE RWY CTRLINE LIGHTS.

Narrative

MY COPLT AND I WERE TAXIING OUT FROM THE HANGAR AT WHICH WE WERE PARKED AT ANC ARPT. MY COPLT (THE PNF) REQUESTED TAXI CLRNC. TWR ASKED IF WERE COULD ACCEPT A TKOF WITH A R-HAND TURNOUT TO STAY N OF THE PARALLELS (RWY 6R&L). I (CAPT) TOLD THE COPLT TO ACCEPT THE CLRNC. THE PROX FROM THE HANGAR TO THE RWY IS NOT THAT FAR SO WE NEEDED TO BRISKLY COMPLETE OUR CHKLISTS. AS WE APCHED THE TXWY THAT PARALLELS RWY 14/32; ATC ASKED IF WE COULD EXPEDITE OUR TAXI FOR INBOUND ACFT FOR AN IMMEDIATE TKOF; AND IF I COULD ACCEPT AN INTXN TKOF INSTEAD OF A FULL LENGTH TKOF. I EXPEDITED MY TAXI BUT REFUSED THE INTXN TKOF. WE CONTINUED FOR RWY 14; WHILE TRYING TO COMPLETE OUR BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST; BUT WAS ONCE AGAIN INTERRUPTED BY ATC CLRING US FOR AN 'IMMEDIATE TKOF.' WE GOT THE CLUE THAT ATC WANTED US OFF OF THAT RWY ASAP. FIRST MISTAKE: NEVER GET RUSHED. I SHOULD HAVE REFUSED THE CLRNC. WE CONTINUED FOR RWY 14 AND COMPLETED THE BEFORE TKOF ITEMS EXCEPT THE 'BELOW THE LINE' OR RWY ITEMS. I WANTED TO USE ALL AVAILABLE RWY; BECAUSE OF THE EARLY TURNOUT TO STAY N OF RWY 6R&L. I TAXIED OFF THE CTRLINE LEAD-IN LINE TO USE ALL THE RWY. THE RWY IS 10000+ FT; BUT WE WERE AT MAX GROSS (17600 LBS); SO WE NEEDED IT ALL. WITH THE OVCST SKIES AND DARK NIGHT; RWY 14 IS VERY DARK. AS WE TAXIED TO THE BEGINNING OF THE RWY WE HAD TO COMPLETE THE LAST 4 ITEMS OF THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST. PERFORMING THESE ITEMS MAKES ME DIVIDE MY ATTN BTWN THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE ACFT. JUST BEFORE WE ENTERED THE RWY; I CALLED 'CLRED L' AND THE COPLT ANSWERED WITH 'CLRED R.' WHEN I CLRED L I MISTAKENLY MISTOOK THE RWY LIGHTS FOR THE RWY CTRLINE LIGHTS AND BEGAN INTRODUCING PWR ON A ROLLING TKOF. THE COPLT JUST GLANCED UP QUICKLY; AND I THINK JUST ASSUMED IT WAS THE CTRLINE LIGHTING BEFORE PUTTING HIS ATTN BACK INSIDE THE ACFT. A COUPLE OF SECONDS AFTER PWR INTRODUCTION; I STRUCK THE L SIDE RWY LIGHT WITH THE R PROP. ACTUALLY IT WAS THE FIRST RWY LIGHT I HIT. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS A POTHOLE OR FOD I HIT WITH MY R MAIN TIRE; SO I IMMEDIATELY ABORTED TKOF SO I COULD INSPECT THE GEAR AS IT WAS A HARD HIT. ABOUT 1 SECOND LATER; AS I WAS CONTINUING TO SLOW THE ACFT; MY PERIPHERAL VISION SAW SOMETHING ABOUT TO GO BY THE NOSEWHEEL. IT WAS AT THIS TIME; I REALIZED I WAS IN THE RWY LIGHTS. THERE IS ANOTHER 30+ FT OF PAVEMENT TO THE L OF THESE LIGHTS THAT MADE THE ILLUSION COMPLETE. I HIT THE 4TH RWY LIGHT WITH THE NOSE AS I WAS JUST GETTING MY BEARINGS. FACTORS AFFECTING INCIDENT: 1) ACCEPTING IMMEDIATE AND EXPEDITED INSTRUCTIONS. 2) VERY DARK CONDITIONS. 3) RUSHING THE TKOF ROLL WITHOUT KNOWING FOR SURE THE POS OF ACFT. 4) MY FOCUS WAS AT ALL TIMES DURING TKOF ROLL AT THE END OF THE RWY; THUS THE RWY LIGHTS WERE JUST A LONG BLUR OF WHITE LIGHTS GIVING THE ILLUSION OF A RWY CTRLINE.
