Narrative
ON MY SECOND STOP-AND-GO; I TOOK OFF FOR A R DOWNWIND APCH TO RWY 5; PAGE FIELD; FT MYERS; FL. RPTED MIDFIELD DOWNWIND FOR FULL STOP RWY 5. TWR SAID 'ACFT X CLR TO LAND RWY 5.' I REPLIED 'ACFT X CLRED TO LAND RWY 5 FULL STOP.' THEN I HEARD ON ATC AN ACFT WAS READY FOR DEP ON RWY 31. PAGE TWR TOLD ACFT WAITING AT THE DEP END OF RWY 31 TO MOVE INTO POS AND 'HOLD' ON RWY 31; AND ADDED THAT A CESSNA WAS ON R BASE FOR RWY 5. I WAS GOING THROUGH MY LNDG CHKLIST; I WAS NOT QUITE YET ON MY R BASE LEG FOR RWY 5. THEN; I (ACFT X) TURNED R BASE FOR RWY 5. SOUNDED LIKE PAGE TWR WAS TELLING ANXIOUS ACFT READY TO GO ON RWY 31 TO WAIT A LITTLE. RWY 31 CROSSES RWY 5 ABOUT 75% DOWN RWY 5. THAT CIRCUMSTANCE DISTR ME; AND THE ITEM 'LNDG GEAR DOWN' WAS OVERLOOKED WHILE I SET FLAPS AND GS TO TOUCHDOWN. THE GEAR HORN DID NOT SOUND AS I CUT PWR OVER RWY 5 THRESHOLD. JUST AS I WAS FLARING FOR TOUCHDOWN; THE TWR ADVISED 'ACFT X GO AROUND.' TOO LATE -- JUST THEN ACFT X CONTACTED THE RWY AND CAME TO A FULL STOP. I SHUT FUEL AND ALL SWITCHES AND EXITED THE ACFT. PREVENTION: PLT SHOULD NOT LET ATC DISTRACT PROCS FOR LNDG; PLTS SHOULD ADVISE ATC IF MORE TIME IS NEEDED FOR CHKLIST.
