Narrative

ON ARR TO LAX; SOCAL APCH CLRED US TO FL190 AND 280 KTS. JUST OUTSIDE CIVET; WE WERE CHANGED OVER TO ANOTHER CTLR AND WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CROSS CIVET AT OR ABOVE 14000 FT AND CLRED THE PARADISE 4 ARR FOR RWY 24R; WHICH SENT US SCRAMBLING. UPON LOADING AND FINDING THE STAR AND INFORMING THE CTLR CIVET DOESN'T CONNECT TO THE PARADISE 4 TO RWY 24; HE INFORMED US WE SHOULD BE ON THE CIVET ARR TO RWY 25L. (NOTE: THE CTLR WAS ALSO CTLING THE PARADISE ARR; AND WHEN AN ACFT CHKED IN AFTER US HE CLRED HIM ON THE PARADISE ARR TO RWY 24R. WHEN WE READ BACK THE CLRNC HE DIDN'T CORRECT US.) HE GAVE US A VECTOR TO PICK UP THE CIVET AND CLRED US ON THE ARR. AS WE RELOADED THE STAR AND DIALED IN THE FREQ WE WERE APPROX 1-2 MI N OFF COURSE; HE GAVE US A REINTERCEPT HEADING AND WE WERE ON PROFILE BY ARNES. RECOMMENDATIONS: HAVE THE INITIAL SOCAL APCH CTLR ASSIGN AND OR CONFIRM THE ARR STAR; NOT THE SECOND CTLR. JUST OUTSIDE CIVET IS NOT THE PLACE TO BE GIVEN A STAR CHANGE AND THIS IS BECOMING THE NORM AT LAX.
