A B763 FLC FOUND OUT AFTER THE FACT THAT THEY HAD AN INTOXICATED PAX ON BOARD.

Narrative

JUST BEFORE THE CABIN DOOR WAS CLOSED; AN INTOXICATED PAX WAS BOARDED BY AGENT. FLT ATTENDANTS APPARENTLY DID NOT SEE PAX; BUT WERE TOLD HIS SEAT NUMBER AND NOT TO SERVE HIM ALCOHOL. AGENT DID NOT TELL FLT ATTENDANT HE WAS INTOXICATED. THEY WERE SUSPICIOUS AND WENT TO SEAT IN AFT OF ACFT TO INVESTIGATE. HE HAD MOVED AND THEY COULDN'T FIND HIM DUE TO NOT EVER HAVING SEEN HIM. DURING FLT (45 MINS) HE RPTEDLY OPENED HIS DUTY FREE LIQUOR; DRANK SOME; AND URINATED IN HIS SEAT. I; THE CAPT; FOUND ALL THIS OUT ABOUT 30 HRS LATER; ON THE LONG ALL-NIGHTER HOME; DURING A SHORT CASUAL CONVERSATION WITH THE FLT ATTENDANTS. I WOULD HAVE RETURNED TO THE GATE IMMEDIATELY HAD I FOUND OUT WHILE ON THE GND. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 516815: THIS SIT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED ALTOGETHER IF THE GATE AGENTS HAD NOTICED OR BEEN TRAINED BETTER IN IDENTING DRUNKEN PAX AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS. THE PERSON SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED ONTO THE JETBRIDGE IN THE FIRST PLACE. ALSO; THE FLT ATTENDANTS SHOULD HAVE SPOKEN UP BEFORE THEY CLOSED THE DOOR PRIOR TO DEP TO INFORM US OF THIS VIOLATION IN FARS; THEN WE COULD HAVE REMOVED THE PAX PRIOR TO DEP.
