A B744 CREW FLEW THE WRONG ILS APCH AT SFO.

Narrative

CLRED FOR ILS RWY 28R APCH. BROKE OUT AT 750 FT AND SAW WE WERE LINED UP RWY 28L. REALIZED WE HAD LOADED RWY 28L IN ERROR. WE WERE STABILIZED; GEAR DOWN; FLAPS 25 DEGS; APCH SPD 155 KTS. DID A SIDESTEP TO RWY 28R AND LANDED. APCH CTL/TWR NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT BEING OFF COURSE. THEY WERE ONLY LNDG RWY 28R SO WE HAD NO TFC CONFLICT WITH RWY 28L TFC. BUNKIE HAD LOADED RWY 28L APCH WHILE WE WERE RESTING IN CRUISE. WE BRIEFED TO A MESSED UP APCH. LESSON LEARNED; DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING -- DOUBLECHK AND THEN CHK AGAIN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 517885: RETURNING FROM SYD TO SFO; RELIEF PLTS HAD ENTERED APCH TO SFO RWY 28R INTO FMC. IN ACTUALITY; ILS RWY 28L WAS SELECTED. I WAS THE FO AND THE PF OF A COCKPIT CREW OF 4. WE WERE CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 28R; I ARMED THE APCH AND FLEW A NORMAL ILS. I TURNED THE AUTOPLT ON AT ABOUT 3000 FT AND THE AUTO THROTTLES AT 1500 FT. WE FLEW A NORMAL APCH TO 1000 FT. AT THAT TIME WE ALL REALIZED THAT WE HAD ENTERED; AND FLEW; THE WRONG APCH ILS RWY 28L VERSUS RWY 28R. I VISUALLY SIDESTEPPED THE ACFT AND LANDED WELL IN THE TOUCHDOWN ZONE OF RWY 28R. THIS OCCURRED ON JUL/XA/01.
