A PA28 FLT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT LANDED GEAR UP.
Narrative
WHILE GIVING DUAL INSTRUCTION IN A PA28-200 TO A CFI CANDIDATE; THE ACFT WAS LANDED GEAR UP AT M54 (LEBANON; TN). ON THE FIRST PATTERN; I DEMONSTRATED TO THE CFI CANDIDATE THE EMER GEAR EXTENSION. AFTER A TOUCH-AND-GO; THE GEAR WAS BROUGHT BACK UP. DURING THE SECOND PATTERN; I HAD THE STUDENT DO AN EMER GEAR EXTENSION. THE PROPER CHKLIST WAS FOLLOWED. DURING THE FLARE; THERE WAS NO HORN OR GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT. THE EMER GEAR EXTENSION WAS PERFORMED ON THE DOWNWIND LEG. THE STUDENT CALLED 3 GREEN AND ON DOWNWIND DID HER PROPER GUMPS CHK. THE AIRPLANE SETTLED ONTO THE RWY; COMING TO A STOP APPROX 2000 FT DOWN THE RWY. WHEN THE ACFT WAS LIFTED UP; THE GEAR CAME DOWN AND LOCKED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PLTS AND ONLY SKIN AND ENG DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 519459: CFI TRAINING IN A COMPLEX AIRPLANE. STAYING IN THE PATTERN; PRACTICING EMER GEAR EXTENSION PROCS. ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT TO LAND; UPON COMPLETING BEFORE LNDG GUMP CHK; ALL INDICATIONS IN THE COCKPIT INDICATED A NORMAL LNDG CONFIGN. LNDG WAS MADE GEAR UP.
