LEAR JET 35 FLC LANDED PRIOR TO THE TEMPORARY RWY DISPLACED THRESHOLD.

Narrative

WE FLEW FROM TEB TO ASPEN; DROPPED OFF THE BOSS; THEN QUICK-TURNED IN ASPEN AND REPOSITIONED TO DENVER. WE CHKED NOTAMS AT ABOUT XA00; BUT DIDN'T WRITE THEM DOWN. BIG MISTAKE. THE LEG FROM ASPEN TO DENVER WAS VERY BUSY AND I MISSED THE FACT THAT THE FIRST 3000 FT OF RWY 35L WERE CLOSED. THIS INFO WAS ON THE ATIS; AFTER A BUNCH OF IRRELEVANT (TO ME) TXWY CLOSURES. WE LANDED NORMALLY AND SAW THE CHEVRON FOR THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD ON THE ROLLOUT. I COULDN'T SEE THE CHEVRON FROM THE AIR. THE OPS PEOPLE MET US UPON SHUTDOWN AND VIGOROUSLY REMINDED US THAT THE RWY MARKINGS CONFORMED TO FAA STANDARDS; BUT I STILL SAY THEY WERE INADEQUATE. ALSO; A FRIENDLY REMINDER FROM THE TWR ABOUT THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HELPFUL. WE EVIDENTLY LANDED ABOUT 1000 FT SHORT OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD. AN AIRPLANE RIGHT BEHIND US DID APPROX THE SAME THING. A BETTER SOLUTION WOULD BE TO HAVE SEVERAL VERY VISIBLE CHEVRONS MORE TOWARD THE BEGINNING OF THE CLOSED PORTION OF THE RWY. I SURE HOPE I DON'T GET VIOLATED FOR SOMETHING SO EASY TO MISTAKE AS THIS. I'M ONLY HUMAN!
