Narrative

WE WERE TOLD TO TAXI TO RWY 15L VIA WA. NEARING THE RWY; GND CTL TOLD US TO MONITOR TWR 127.3. TWR TOLD A B737 TO TKOF RWY 15L AND IMMEDIATELY TOLD US TO TAXI INTO POSITION AND HOLD 15L. WE READ BACK THE CLRNC. I SAW A B737; BUT IT WAS TO OUR R; ABOUT 100 YDS FURTHER AWAY FROM RWY 15L THAN US... IS THIS THE B737? CAN'T BE... I THOUGHT! SO WE ARE IN POSITION AND HOLD 15L AND THE B737 TELLS TWR THAT A FALCON 'JUMPED AHEAD' OF HIM. WE THEN ASKED THE TWR IF WE WERE CLRED POSITION AND HOLD 15L! HE SAID 'YES; HE THOUGHT THAT THE B737 WAS TAXIING FASTER THAN WHAT THEY WERE AND THAT HE WAS ALREADY ON TKOF!' WE WERE CLEAR FOR TAKE OFF AND THEN I HEARD THE TWR TELL THE B737; 'LET'S TRY THIS AGAIN... CLEARED FOR TKOF.' I WAS AMAZED THIS OCCURRED... I HEARD THE XMISSIONS; BUT WAS CONFUSED THINKING HOW COULD TWO DIFFERENT CLRNCS BE GIVEN AT THE SAME TIME. I SHOULD HAVE JUST STOPPED; BUT I WAS SORT OF TAKEN BACK IN SURPRISE BY IT ALL! AS FOR THE TWR CTLR; HE MUST NOT HAVE EVEN LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW... VERY SCARY! I NOW SEE HOW RWY INCURSIONS HAPPEN.
