AN ATLANTIC XING FLT IS DELAYED WITH VECTORS OUTSIDE SHANWICK'S AIRSPACE WHILE CLRNC CONFUSION IS STRAIGHTENED OUT.

Narrative

WHILE IN RADAR CONTACT; RECEIVED FULL RTE OCEANIC CLRNC FROM REYKJAVIK CTL AS FOLLOWS. FILED FLT PLAN RTE VIA 6010N; 5920N; 5730N; 5540N; 5250N; DOTTY; FL350; MACH .81. THE CLRNC WAS COPIED; ACKNOWLEDGED WITH A FULL RTE READBACK; AND CONFIRMED BY REYKJAVIK CTL. WHILE IN THE SCOTTISH AIRSPACE WE WERE ASKED TO CONTACT SHANWICK OCEANIC. SCOTTISH THEN ADVISED US THAT SHANWICK DID NOT HAVE AN OCEANIC FLT PLAN ON US. ATC ISSUED A DELAYING VECTOR OF 180 DEGS TO PROVIDE TIME TO SORT OUT THE PROB. UPON CONTACTING SHANWICK; THEY CLRED US VIA 6110N; 5920N; 5730N; 5540N; 5350N; YAY; MACH .81; FL330. RECONTACTING SCOTTISH DOMESTIC; THEY QUERIED US WHO ISSUED OCEANIC CLRNC. OUR RESPONSE WAS THAT REYKJAVIK DID. SCOTTISH THEN SENT US BACK TO 6110N AND US TO RECONTACT REYKJAVIK. UPON RECONTACTING REYK; THEY CLRED US INITIALLY VIA 6110N; THEN 6220N; FL380; MACH .80. AFTER SEVERAL MINS REYK CLRED US VIA 6110N; 5820N; 5630N; 5440N; 5150N; CYMO; FL380; MACH .80. WE ASKED REYK IF THIS CLRNC THROUGH SHANWICK'S AIRSPACE WAS A VALID CLRNC. REYK RESPONDED THAT IT INDEED IS A VALID CLRNC INTO SHANWICK'S AIRSPACE AND THAT HE WAS COORDINATING. AT NO TIME DID WE ENTER SHANWICK'S AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC.
