C560 CREW HAD TRACK DEV ON THE CRUXX 4 INTO YIP.

Narrative

THE FLT WAS EMPTY (CREW ONLY) POSITIONING THE ACFT FOR A DEP OUT OF WILLOW RUN (YIP) THE FOLLOWING MORNING. WE WERE GIVEN THE CRUXX FOUR ARRIVAL/FORT WAYNE TRANSITION (FWA.CRUXX4). THE FIRST OFFICER (PNF) LOOKED UP THE STAR. HE SHOWED ME THE PLATE. I TOLD HIM TO BE SURE AND 'READ' THE ARRIVAL DESCRIPTION. HE SAID HE HAD; AND BEGAN TO GIVE ME THE FIXES OFF THE R-038 FWA (DEEBE; CRUXX). I PUT THESE IN THE GNSX. I DID NOT TAKE THE NOS STAR FROM HIM AND READ THE ARRIVAL DESCRIPTION MYSELF. I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS! THE FIRST OFFICER EITHER DID NOT READ THE ARRIVAL DESCRIPTION AS I HAD INSTRUCTED; OR DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE HAD READ. THE FORT WAYNE TRANSITION USES THE FWA R-016 TO MODEM INTXN AND DXO R-254 TO CRUXX INTXN IF LANDING YIP FROM CRUXX INTXN VIA 50 DEG HEADING. IF THE FIRST OFFICER HAD READ THE ARRIVAL DESCRIPTION AS TOLD BY THE CAPT (ME) THERE IS NO WAY HE WOULD HAVE HAD ME USE THE FWA R-038. I HAVE NOTICED THAT PLTS THAT DON'T USE NOS; OR DON'T USE THEM OFTEN; SEEM TO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE DESCRIPTION; THEY ONLY WANT TO LOOK AT THE PLATE ITSELF. THIS LEADS TO EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO US. THE FIRST OFFICER MADE A WRONG ASSUMPTION BY ASSUMING THE STAR USED THE FWA R-038 IN A STRAIGHT LINE TO CRUXX INTXN. CHICAGO CENTER OR DETROIT METRO APCH (I CAN'T REMEMBER WHICH IT WAS) CAUGHT THE PROBLEM AND GAVE US A HEADING TO THE LEFT TO GO TO MODEM INTXN. LATER THEY CLRED US DIRECT. TO CORRECT THE SIT; I WILL READ THE ARRIVAL DESCRIPTION MYSELF; INSTEAD OF TRUSTING THE FIRST OFFICER TO READ IT AS TOLD TO DO.
