A REDISPATCH WAS NOT RECEIVED ON AN ATLANTIC XING FLT DUE TO CREW DISTR WITH THE CONCERNS OF SECURITY AND A NEWLY INSTALLED COCKPIT DOOR.
Narrative
WE INADVERTENTLY FAILED TO RECEIVE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE REDISPATCH MESSAGE FROM DISPATCH AND CONTINUED TO CDG. DURING PREFLT PLANNING; THE FLT PLAN HAD AN MEL ITEM REQUIRING THE APU TO RUN THE ENTIRE TIME (APPROX 600 LBS/HR). A DISCUSSION WITH DISPATCHER AND SAM REVEALED THE ITEM HAD BEEN FIXED BUT WE HAD ALREADY BEEN FUELED. AS A RESULT WE HAD A LOT OF EXTRA FUEL AT EACH POINT. IN FACT; SO MUCH THAT A REDISPATCH FLT PLAN WAS NOT REQUIRED. AT THE APPROX TIME OF THE REDISPATCH A VERY SAD DISCUSSION WAS TAKING PLACE REGARDING THE EVENTS OF SEP/TUE. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A LENGTHY DISCUSSION ON WHAT ACTIONS WE SHOULD TAKE IN THE EVENT OF A HIJACKING. THERE WAS A CONSTANT DISTR WITH THE NEW SECURITY BAR ON THE DOOR. SHOWING THE FLT ATTENDANTS HOW IT OPERATES AND CONSTANTLY GETTING OUT OF OUR SEATS TO LATCH AND UNLATCH THE DOOR. WE MADE AN HONEST MISTAKE BUT DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. WE THEN CONTACTED DISPATCH AND THEY HAD ALREADY ARCHIVED THE FLT PLAN. UPON RECENT DISCUSSION WITH DISPATCH THEY ALSO BELIEVED THAT WE WERE FILED ON A NON-REDISPATCH FLT PLAN. A VERBAL AND ALL APPROPRIATE FUEL NUMBERS AND TIMES WERE GIVEN TO ME.
