ON 10/TUES/01; XXX WAS WRITTEN UP PER LOG PAGE XXXXX; ITEM NUMBER 1 REMARK 'FOR CVR GND CTL PUSH SWITCH 'ON' LEGEND BACKWARDS.' ACTION: 'PROGRAMMED PANEL FOR.' PART NUMBER PROGRAMMED XYXY ON 10/TUE/01 XXX WAS IN ZZZ FOR THE RON OPERATION. WRI ITEM WAS GENERATED TO REPLACE THE AVIONICS SWITCHING PANEL. THE PANEL PART NUMBER X; HAVING BEEN PREVIOUSLY PROGRAMMED FOR REPLACEMENT; WAS RECEIVED IN AND LOCATED IN THE HANGAR STORES STOCK ROOM WAITING PICK UP. I WAS ISSUED THE ITEM TO COMPLETE THIS JOB AND CLR THE PROGRAMMED FOR REPLACEMENT ITEM GENERATED ON 10/THU/01. I PROCEEDED TO REPLACE THE AVIONICS SWITCHING PANEL AND ACCOMPLISHING A SATISFACTORY CHECK OF THE PANEL PER THE MAINT MANUAL. I ENTERED THIS INFO FOR XXX ON LOG. ON 10/FRI/01 WAS INFORMED THAT THE CORRECT AVIONICS SWITCHING PANEL FOR XXX WAS PART NUMBER X0XXX DUE TO ENGINEERING AUTHORIZATION BEING ACCOMPLISHED ON THIS ON 7/TUE/01 PER 71311. XXX HAVING BEEN PREPROGRAMMED FOR PART REPLACEMENT I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY ENGINEERING AUTHORIZATIONS PERTAINING TO THIS PART NUMBER.
