Synopsis

AN SMA PLT ; DEPARTING MYF; WAS TOLD BY ONE CTLR HE WAS CLR OF CLASS B AIRSPACE; THEN WAS INFORMED BY THE NEXT CTLR HE HAD VIOLATED CLASS B AIRSPACE.

Narrative

PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR THE ARPT; I CALLED FSS FOR WX BRIEFING AND EXPRESSED MY CONCERN FOR EXITING THE OVERLAYING TCA. WX FROM MONTGOMERY FIELD (MYF) TO BULLHEAD LAUGHLIN WAS CLR WITH NO FLT ADVISORIES. THE SPECIALIST THAT I TALKED TO SAID I SHOULD HAVE NO PROB WITH THE TCA ALTHOUGH IT HAD BEEN EXPANDED TO COVER ADDITIONAL AIRSPACE. HE ADVISED THAT AS LONG AS I DIDNT LOITER OR CIRCLE SENSITIVE AREAS AND KEPT MOVING; THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED I RECEIVE A CLRNC FROM ATC BEFORE DEP. I CONTACTED MYF CLRNC DELIVERY AND WAS TOLD A CLRNC WAS NOT REQUIRED FOR MY DEP. TWR GAVE ME A R DOWNWIND DEP AND UPON TKOF A FREQUENCY FOR SOCAL APCH. I CONTACTED ATC AND WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN SEVEN MINS. IN APPROX FIVE MINS THEY CONTACTED ME; GAVE ME A XPONDER CODE AND ASKED ME TO COME TO 100 DEGS WHICH WAS IN LINE WITH THE R DOWNWIND DEP FROM RWY 28R I HAD JUST DEPARTED. I WAS AT 3000 FT AGL AND TOLD NOT TO EXCEED 3500 FT. I REMAINED AT 3000 FT AND WAS DIRECTED TO COME TO 060 DEGS AND CLRED TO 4500 FT. DURING THE CLIMB I WAS INFORMED I WAS CLR OF THE CLASS B AIRSPACE AND CLRED TO CLIMB UNRESTR TO 5500 FT AND GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE. UPON CONTACTING THE NEW FREQUENCY; THE CTLR INFORMED ME THAT I HAD ENTERED THE CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC AND THAT WAS A NONO. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS AWARE OF CLASS B AIRSPACE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS. AT THE TIME THIS ALL TRANSPIRED; THE CTLR FACILITY WAS INFORMING OTHER PLTS OF A PROB AT MCCLELLAN PALOMAR WITH ALL OF THEIR OPS BEING SENT TO HIS SECTOR AND CAUSING AN ADDITIONAL WORKLOAD.
