DEPARTED PHX ON RWY 26R. FLEW DRYHEAT 2 DEP. AFTER TURNING SE ON 140 DEG HDG; WE WERE GIVEN ADDITIONAL HDGS E; THEN CLRED DIRECT BAYTA INTXN; WHICH WE ENTERED AND FLEW LNAV DIRECT TO BAYTA; THEN THE DRYHEAT 2 DEP. AS THE PLANE PROCEEDED PAST ADYAN; THE LNAV DEFAULTED TO HDG 055 DEGS; SINCE WE WERE TO EXPECT VECTORS TO DRYHT. WE FLEW PAST DRYHT ON A HDG OF 055 DEGS; THEN ATC QUERIED WHAT OUR CLRNC WAS. OUR ORIGINAL ON THE GND CLRNC WAS 'DRYHT 2; DRYHT; J14.IRW; AS FILED.' I TOLD ATC. ATC SAID WE MISSED THE TURN AT DRYHT. YES; WE HAD NOT TURNED; BUT THE DRYHEAT 2 DEP SAYS 'EXPECT RADAR VECTORS TO DRYHT INTXN;' WHICH WE RECEIVED NO VECTORS FROM ATC AFTER BAYTA WHICH IS THE REASON THE LNAV AND US WERE FLYING HDG 055 DEGS AFTER ADYAN. ATC SHOULD HAVE CLRED US DIRECT DRYHT AFTER ADYAN RATHER THAN ASSUMING THAT SINCE WE WERE CLRED DIRECT BAYTA TO FLY THE REST OF THE DRYHT 2 DEP PAST ADYAN AND ONTO DRYHT; THEN J74 AS FILED. THE SECTION OF THE DEP SHOULD BE A HARD SEGMENT WITHOUT RADAR VECTORS FROM ADYAN TO DRYHT. ADYAN IS 99 NM FROM PXR VOR AND SHOULD BE HARD SEGMENTS FOR LNAV NAV. THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW INST DEPS WITH AN 'EXPECT RADAR VECTORS' PAST AT LEAST 3 WAYPOINTS BEING NAVED ON THE INST DEP. THIS MAY BE THE ONLY SID WITH THIS DISCONTINUITY; ON THE DIAGRAM AND IN THE TEXT. I COULDN'T FIND ANY OTHERS.
