Synopsis

AFTER LNDG; CPR JET CREW BECAME DISTR WITH A THRUST REVERSER AND CROSSED RWY HOLD SHORT LINES.

Narrative

AFTER LNDG AT NIGHTTIME; WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS BY THE GND CTLR TO TAXI AND HOLD SHORT OF THE RWY WE JUST LANDED ON (FOR A CROSS BACK OVER TO THE FBO). AS WE WERE TAXIING; WE NOTICED A PROB WITH OUR R THRUST REVERSER. IN AN ATTEMPT TO ANALYZE OUR PROB AND DEAL WITH COM TO OUR MECHS AND OFFICE; WE BECAME SOMEWHAT DISTR. IN OUR VERY SLOW TAXIING; WE TURNED ON A REVERSE HIGH SPD TXWY; AND SAW FAINT LINES; BUT THE HOLD SHORT LINES WERE NOT ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM; AND THEY WERE AT A GREAT DISTANCE FROM THE RWY STILL. WE PROCEEDED TO HOLD SHORT OF THE RWY; LOOKING FOR THE RWY HOLD SHORT LINES; BUT THEY NEVER CAME UP; SO WE STOPPED WELL BEFORE THE RWY. AFTER WE STOPPED; THE GND CTLRS CONFIRMED WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF THE RWY; INFORMED US WE WERE PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE; AND THAT AN AIRLINER WOULD HAVE TO DO A HIGH ALT CAUTIONARY MISSED APCH. THIS WAS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF NOT MAINTAINING PRIORITIES WITH THE ACFT IN MOTION. THIS WAS ALSO A LESSON IN THE FACT THAT YOU SHOULD CONFIRM THAT WHICH SEEMS UNUSUAL OR QUESTIONABLE.
