BEECH 200 PLT INCREASED DSCNT AND BANKED STEEPLY TO AVOID A PIPER AZTEC ON WHAT APPEARED TO BE A COLLISION COURSE.

Narrative

ON APCH INTO PWA; I WAS CLRED TO 10000 FT BY FTW CTR. AT APPROX 11000 FT; I OBSERVED TFC AT MY 11 O'CLOCK POS. AS IT BECAME APPARENT THE TFC WAS ON A COLLISION COURSE; I STEEPENED MY DSCNT AND ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FTW CTR FOR ADVISORIES. WHEN PENDING COLLISION BECAME OBVIOUS; I INITIATED A STEEP DSCNT AT APPROX 45 DEGS L BANK TO AVOID THE OTHER ACFT. THE ACFT; A PIPER AZTEC PASSED THROUGH MY WINDSCREEN AT APPROX 500 FT ABOVE ME. AT THIS TIME I WAS AT APPROX 9500 FT AND IN A STEEP DSCNT. DURING MY LEVELOFF; CTR ADVISED ME TO CONTACT OKC APCH. UPON CONTACT; I WAS ASKED MY LAST ASSIGNED ALT WHICH I RPTED TO 10000 FT. I ALSO TOLD OKC APCH I HAD ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FTW CTR AND ASKED OKC APCH IF THEY HAD SEEN THE AZTEC. THE RESPONSE WAS TO CONTACT OKC APCH UPON LNDG. UPON LEVELOFF FROM THE ACTION I TOOK TO AVOID THE COLLISION; MY ALT WAS APPROX 7500 FT AT WHICH TIME OBSERVED ANOTHER ACFT AT MY 12 O'CLOCK POS; A TURBINE COMMANDER WHICH WAS ABOVE ME AT ESTIMATED 8000 FT. I DID NOT INITIATE A CLB BACK TO ASSIGNED ALT BECAUSE OF THAT ACFT AND THE FACT THAT I; AT THAT POINT; WAS TALKING TO OKC APCH.
