A B777 CREW; DEPARTING AMSTERDAM (EHAM) FLEW THE WRONG SID.

Narrative

UNDER HVY PREDEP WORKLOAD (TAXIING; RWY INSTRUCTIONS; WIND SHIFT; FLAP AND SPD CHANGE; ETC); AMS GND CTLR CHANGED DEP RWY FROM RWY 24 TO RWY 1L. WHILE TAXIING; A NEW SID WAS ISSUED WHAT WE HAD WAS 'PAMPUS SPECIAL' (AS OPPOSED TO 'PAMPUS'). I HAD REQUESTED THE FO TO REPROGRAM THE DEP IN THE FMC AND HANDED MY CHART BOOK TO THE JUMPSEATER TO 'PULL OUT THE DEP SID' FOR ME AS I TAXIED DOWN AN ACTIVE RWY AND FOLLOWED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. THE JUMP SEATER CONCURRED WITH THE FO WITH THE SID. AND I REVIEWED IT WHEN STOPPED. AFTER TKOF; WE FLEW THE 'PAMPUS SPECIAL' AND WERE QUERIED BY DEP CTLR WE WERE SUPPOSED TO FLY THE 'PAMPUS' DEP. WE WERE THEN PUT ON A VECTOR FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DEP. CONCLUSIONS: WITH INTL LANGUAGE DIFFICULTY AND BUSY WORKLOAD; WE SHOULD HAVE ONCE AGAIN ASKED AMS GND FOR CLRNC. THE ACM WAS NOT LISTENING TO GND AS HE WAS OBTAINING NEW PERFORMANCE NUMBERS -- OVERLAPPED FO'S INTERP OF PAMPUS SPECIAL AND I DID NOT QUERY EITHER CREW MEMBER AS I THOUGHT I HEARD 'PAMPUS SPECIAL' AS WELL DURING THAT WORKLOAD. DURING HIGH COCKPIT WORKLOAD SITS; AWARENESS PLAYS A MAJOR PART ALONG WITH MASTERING COCKPIT TASKS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 533461: THE NEW SID WAS PROGRAMMED INTO THE FMC. THE NEW SID WAS ASSIGNED BY THE TWR CTLR. COPLT (FO) ACKNOWLEDGED PAMPUS SPECIAL DEP TO THE TWR CTLR. ACFT TAXIED OVER TO RWY 1L TOOK EXECUTED THE PAMPUS SPECIAL DEP. RADAR CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE FLYING THE PAMPUS SPECIAL SID. WE ACKNOWLEDGED YES. WE WERE THEN TOLD THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FLYING THE PAMPUS SID.
