MD88 CAPT HITS WINGTIP ON DEICING TRUCK DURING TAXI TO PARKING.

Narrative

AFTER AN UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG ON RWY AT ZZZ; WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT ACR X RAMP AT SPOT A FOR CLRNC TO CROSS THEIR RAMP TO ACR Y'S RAMP. ACR X RAMP CTL TOLD US TO TRANSITION TO THE S LINE AND CONTACT ACR Y RAMP CTL AT TXWY. APCHING TXWY; I NOTICED A DEICING TRUCK PARKED JUST OFF THE RAMP IN THE AREA BTWN TXWYS. ANOTHER ACFT TAXIED PAST THIS TRUCK BUT I DON'T RECALL THE TYPE. WE CONTACTED ACR Y RAMP AND THEY TOLD US TO TAXI S ON TXWY TO OUR GATE. I WAS FOLLOWING THE TAXI LINES AND AS WE APCHED OUR TURN POINT; THE FO TOLD ME TO WATCH OUT FOR THE TRUCK. I SLOWED AND PROCEEDED STRAIGHT AHEAD AND THEN THE FO SAID IT WAS OK NOW; THE BOOM OPERATOR WAS GIVING US AN ALL CLR SIGNAL. NOW MY MAIN CONCERN WAS MY L WING BECAUSE IF I DIDN'T TURN NOW; I COULD HAVE PROBS WITH MEN AND EQUIP IN THE GATE AREA. I CONTINUED BRAKING AND TURNED R TO GET BACK ON THE TXWY CTRLINE. WE FELT THE ACFT SHUDDER; BUT THOUGHT IT WAS THE NORMAL BRAKE SHUDDER OF THE MD88. THE FLT ATTENDANTS CHIMED US TO SAY WE HAD HIT THE TRUCK. AS WE WERE ALMOST TO OUR GATE; WE PROCEEDED TO PARKING. THE R WINGTIP WAS DAMAGED FROM CONTACT WITH THE TRUCK. SEVERAL WITNESSES; INCLUDING THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND AN ACR Y PLT IN FIRST CLASS; SAW THE ALL CLR SIGNAL FROM THE TRUCK PRIOR TO THE CONTACT.
