E120 FLT ENCOUNTER RTE AND COORD XFER BREAKDOWN BTWN ZMA AND MYNA AAC WHILE ENRTE MYNN.

Narrative

APCHING NASSAU INTL; ZMA INFORMED US THAT NASSAU APCH RADAR WAS OTS AND VECTORED US OFF OUR FILED RTE -- BR63V ONTO BR55V. UPON SWITCHING TO NASSAU APCH; THEY TOLD US TO HOLD AT MELON INTXN WHICH IS ON BR63V. AFTER SOME CONVERSATION WITH APCH; WE CLARIFIED THAT WE WERE ON BR55V AS DIRECTED BY ZMA AND NOWHERE NEAR MELON INTXN. NASSAU APCH TOLD US TO CONTINUE. AT 9 DME FROM THE ZQA VOR ON BR55V; WE INQUIRED AS TO NASSAU APCH CTL'S INTENTION. THEY ASKED TO HOLD AT PRUNE INTXN; A POINT WE WERE BEYOND BY 21 NM. NASSAU THEN TOLD US TO CONTINUE TO THE VOR AND TRACK OUTBOUND ON THE 140 DEG RADIAL FOR 15 NM. WE DID SO; AND SUBSEQUENTLY FLEW THE VOR-DME APCH TO RWY 32 WITHOUT INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT; AND CONDITIONS WERE VMC; HOWEVER; THE POTENTIAL WAS CERTAINLY THERE. CLRLY A MISCOM BTWN ZMA AND NASSAU APCH HAD OCCURRED; PUTTING THE NASSAU CTLR'S UNDERSTANDING OF OUR POS WOEFULLY BEHIND OUR ACTUAL POS. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE; A HOLDING CLRNC IN ZMA PRIOR TO HDOF WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAFEST COURSE OF ACTION -- ALLOWING A MUCH MORE POSITIVE FIX OF OUR POS PRIOR TO CLRING US INTO THE NON RADAR CTLR'S AIRSPACE.
