Narrative
WE HAD RECEIVED A CLRNC WHICH INCLUDED A REQUIREMENT TO ADVISE GRAY CLRNC/DEP WHEN WE WERE NUMBER ONE FOR DEP AT KILEEN; TX. AS WE APCHED THE RWY; WE WERE BUSY CONDUCTING OUR FIRST FLT OF THE DAY CHKS. THE CAPT BRIEFED ME FOR DEP; THEN ASKED IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS. HE THEN ASKED ME TO CLR FINAL AND CALLED FOR THE BEFORE TKOF CHKLIST (HE HAD STARTED TO BACK TAXI INTO POS FOR A RWY 19 DEP). I MADE THE ADVISORY CALL ON 122.7 (CTAF) AND CONTINUED THE COMPLETE CHKLIST. AS I WAS FINISHING THE CHKLIST; THE CAPT HAD ALREADY ADVANCED THE THROTTLES TO 40 PERCENT TORQUE; AND TRANSFERRED THE CTLS TO ME; SAYING 'LETS GO.' WHILE WE STARTED TO ROLL DOWN THE RWY; I REMEMBERED THAT WE NEEDED TO BE RELEASED PRIOR TO OUR DEP AND NOTIFIED THE CAPT. I MADE A QUICK CALL TO CLRNC; BUT THE CTLR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF COMMUNICATING WITH THE ACFT HOLDING BEHIND US. I FOCUSED BACK ON OUR ACFT; SINCE WE WERE PASSING THROUGH V1 AND HAD TO RESPOND TO THE STD CALL OUTS. I THEN ATTEMPTED ANOTHER CALL TO CLRNC. THE CTLR HAD US CLARIFY THAT WE WERE NUMBER ONE. I RESPONDED THAT WE WERE AND HAD JUST TAKEN OFF. THE CTLR HAD US IDENT; AND THEN TOLD US TO PROCEED ONTO THE LAMPS ONE DEP. WE WERE SO BUSY RUSHING THROUGH OUR CHKS; AND SO GLAD THAT WE WERE DEPARTING BEFORE EVERY ONE ELSE THAT WE FORGOT TO ASK FOR OUR RELEASE PRIOR TO TAKING OFF FROM KILEEN. I WAS SO DISTRACTED WITH MY COCKPIT DUTIES THAT I FORGOT TO PROPERLY STOP THE CAPT FROM TAXIING ONTO THE RWY FOR DEP PRIOR TO GETTING OUR RELEASE.
