EXECUTIVE JET CREW OVERSHOT ASSIGNED INTERMEDIATE ALT DURING DEP CLB DUE TO DISTR OF THEIR EMPLOYER'S ATTITUDE TOWARD SAFETY.

Narrative

ATC INSTRUCTED US TO CLB TO 9000 FT HDG 320 DEGS TO INTERCEPT THE THUNDER TRANSITION. WHILE CLBING; WE (CREW) WERE DISCUSSING OUR BOSS'S ATTITUDE TOWARDS AN ABORTED LNDG A FEW MINS EARLIER. ON SHORT FINAL; AN ACFT DECLARED AN EMER; TWR TOLD US TO GO AROUND; MAINTAIN SLOWEST SPD. WE DID THIS AND WAITED FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM APCH CTL WHILE THE EMER ACFT TRIED TO LAND. MEANWHILE; WE INSTRUCTED OUR PAX WE HAD BEEN TOLD TO GO AROUND FOR ANOTHER ACFT WHO RPTED AN EMER. THE PAX WAS OUR BOSS AND ACFT OWNER. HE WAS UNPLEASANTLY UPSET THAT WE HAD TO GO AROUND -- OF COURSE -- I BECAME VERY IRRITATED AT HIS ATTITUDE AND LACK OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY THE OTHER PLT'S IN TROUBLE. AFTER LNDG ONLY 10 MINS LATER; OUR BOSS DEPARTED THE PLANE WITH 2 ENGS RUNNING. WE PICKED UP OUR RETURN IFR CLRNC. UPON DEP; WE (CREW) WERE DISCUSSING OUR BOSS'S ATTITUDE AND WE FLEW THROUGH OUR ASSIGNED ALT OF 9000 FT TO 10000 FT. AT 10000 FT; WE IMMEDIATELY DSNDED BACK TO 9000 FT. WE WERE IN VFR CONDITIONS AND NO TFC IN SIGHT. NEXT TIME WE WILL TELL OUR BOSS NOTHING AND WAIT TO TALK ON THE GND. THEN POSTPONE OUR DEP UNTIL WE ARE IN A BETTER FRAME OF MIND -- NOT WORRIED ABOUT COMPLAINING WHILE TRYING TO FLY.
