Narrative
REOPENED RWY 5/23 AT DSM DOES NOT HAVE ARPT; PERFORMANCE DATA. ON DSCNT INTO DSM WE WERE TOLD TO EXPECT RWY 23 FOR LNDG. OUR DSM PAGE ARPT PLATE SHOWED RWY 5/23 CLOSED FOR REPAIRS. WE QUERIED APCH WHO SAID RWY 5/23 REOPENED LAST DECEMBER. (IT WAS LENGTHENED FROM 6500 FT TO 9500 FT.) IN OUR PAPERWORK; THE FIELD RPT SHOWED RWY 5/23 AS BEING OPEN AND DRY. APCH SAID THAT RWY 5/23 IS NOW THE LONGEST RWY AT DSM; THE PRIMARY RWY; AND THE ONLY RWY IN USE. RWY 23 HAS A VOR APCH WITH STRAIGHT IN MINIMUMS; SO IT HAD BEEN AUTH FOR ACR USE PRIOR TO THE RENOVATION. SO AS NOT TO INCUR AN UNDO DELAY WAITING FOR DSM TO SWITCH RWYS; I ELECTED TO LAND ON RWY 23. THIS MORNING; WHILE DOING MY PREFLT PLANNING; I NOTICED RWY 5/23 WAS NOT LISTED IN THE ARPT PERFORMANCE DATA. I CALLED DISPATCH AND DISCOVERED THAT ACR HAS NOT YET DEVELOPED NEW DATA FOR THE IMPROVED RWY 5/23. IT'S A BIG TIME GOTCHA. IF WE ARE NOT AUTH TO USE RWY 5/23; THE FIELD RPT SHOULD STATE THAT RWY 5/23 IS CLOSED TO ACR ACFT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE NEED TO GET IT APPROVED SOON; AS ACCORDING TO THE AGENTS EVERYONE; INCLUDING ACR IS USING IT.
