Narrative
AT ABOUT XA00 1/SAT/02; I AND TWO PAX TOOK OFF FROM ZZZ TO ZZZ1 AND BACK TO ZZZ. WE FLEW DIRECTLY E FROM THE SLC TCA; CLIMBED TO ABOUT 6500 FT TO STAY UNDER THE TCA. I HAVE MADE THE FLT PATH MANY TIMES BETWEEN ZZZ AND ZZZ1 TO STAY CLR OF THE SLC TCA. I HAVE MADE THIS FLT PLAN MANY TIMES BETWEEN ZZZ AND ZZZ1 TO STAY CLR OF THE SLC TCA. WHEN WE LANDED AT ZZZ1; A GENTLEMAN TOLD ME THERE WAS A PHONE CALL FOR ME. I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD CROSSED A PORTION OF THE TFR; AND THAT THERE WERE TWO MEN WHO WERE GOING TO SPEAK TO ME. THEY WERE FROM THE US CUSTOMS. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TFR HAD BEEN ACTIVATED THE DAY BEFORE 1/FRI/02. I WAS AWARE OF THE MANY TFR'S AROUND EACH OF THE OLYMPIC VENUES AND OF THE 45 MILE NO FLY ZONE AROUND THE ENTIRE AREA OF SALT LAKE DURING THE OLYMPICS; BUT HAD SOME HOW MISSED THE FACT THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH WAS GOING TO BE RESTR TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE OLYMPICS. I WAS THEN QUESTIONED BY THE SECRET SERVICE. THE THIRD QUESTIONING CAME FROM THE FAA. IN MY ZEAL TO STAY CLR OF THE TCA; I LOST THE ONE GUIDE; THAT WOULD HAVE KEPT ME OUT OF THE TFR. I HAVE LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF CHKING THE CONSTANTLY CHANGING NOTAMS AND WILL FORCE MYSELF TO USE APCH CTL FROM NOW ON.
