Narrative
EVENT HAPPENED TO ANOTHER CREW (SAME AIRFRAME) 2 DAYS PRIOR. ON TKOF (CLBOUT) AT APPROX 2500 FT; #1 ENG PWR ROLLED BACK TO 70% N1. THROTTLE POS HAD NO EFFECT NO INCREASING PWR; BUT WOULD REDUCE PWR. DUMPED FUEL; DECLARED EMER; ON SHORT FINAL CREW NOTED #1 FUEL LEVER AT MIDWAY POS; PUSHED UP AND LANDED. MAINT PERFORMED FOUND OVER TIGHT OR STRONG RELEASE SPRING. HIGH PWR RUN AND TOOK PLANE WITH NO FURTHER ABNORMALITIES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 536856: CREW PUT #1 FUEL LEVER TO FULL UP POS. #1 N1 LAGGED REMAINING ENGS BY 5%-8%. CREW HAD ENSURED FUEL LEVERS LOCKED IN POS ON START. MAINT READJUSTED #1 FUEL LEVER CABLE AND NOTED A WEAK LOCKING SPRING ON FUEL LEVER DETENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR COULD NOT RECALL THE MAINT COMPLETED AFTER THE INCIDENT OF THE DAY BEFORE. EVEN THOUGH DURING THE HIGH PWR RUN AFTER MAINT COMPLETED THEIR WORK AND THE SUBSEQUENT UNEVENTFUL FLT THE CREW WAS TOLD THAT THE ACFT WAS GOING TO GO IN FOR FURTHER MAINT INVESTIGATION.
