Narrative
AT ROTATION; MY ANNUNCIATOR PANEL FLASHED AND FLICKERED A STANDBY PWR INOP LIGHT; IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY GENERATOR OFF STANDBY PWR ON ANNUNCIATORS. I CALLED FXE TWR AND REQUESTED L TFC FOR RWY 8; WHICH WAS APPROVED BEHIND A CHEROKEE ON 3 MI FINAL. I THEN SWITCHED XMITTERS TO CALL COMPANY AND TRY AND GET HELP; MAYBE ENDING UP TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROB AND GO ON TO MY DEST. ABOUT THIS TIME AFTER TRIPPING AND RESETTING GENERATOR SWITCHES AND EMER CHKLIST PROCS; MY HEADSET UNPLUGGED ITSELF. WHEN I NOTICED THIS; I SQUAWKED 7700 ON MY XPONDER; MISTAKING THIS FOR THE APPROPRIATE 'LOST COM' SQUAWK OF 7600. I MADE STANDARD L TFC FOR RWY 8. LANDED AND ROLLED OUT OF RWY 8 ONTO TXWY G. STOPPED ON TXWY G OFF RWY 8 JUST PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE. LOOKED AT THE TWR FOR A LIGHT SIGNAL; AND NOTHING WAS SENT. AFTER WAITING 2 MINS; I WAS APCHED BY THE FIRE TRUCKS BECAUSE OF MY 7700 SQUAWK. I GAVE THEM A THUMBS UP AND THEY MOTIONED ME TO GO. NOT SEEING ANY LIGHT SIGNALS; I FELT THIS WAS AN APPROPRIATE SIGNAL TO TAXI. I FINALLY FIXED MY HEADPHONE PROB; AND RADIOED FXE GND AND WAS TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 13 AT TXWY C; AND ALSO FINALLY RECEIVED A FLASHING RED LIGHT FROM THE TWR ONCE I WAS HOLDING SHORT AT TXWY C. EVENTUALLY WAS GIVEN CLRNC TO 'TAXI TO PARKING.' AFTER ALL OF THIS; I HAD LEARNED A GREAT DEAL FROM 7600 TO PROCS FOR NEXT TIME THIS OCCURS (JUST EXIT RWY TAXI PAST HOLD SHORT LINE AND SHUT DOWN; UNLESS; OF COURSE; LIGHT SIGNALS ARE RECEIVED).
