A B737 CREW; UPON DEPARTING PVD; WERE ISSUED THE WRONG DEP FREQ BY CLRNC DELIVERY; LEADING TO MUCH COMS CONFUSION.

Narrative

CLRNC DELIVERY IN PROVIDENCE (PVD) GAVE US 133.0 FOR DEP CTL FREQ. TWR TOLD US TO TAKE OFF FROM RWY 23L AND TURN TO HEADING 160 DEGS TO INTERCEPT PVD 180 DEGS TO JUMPR INTXN. WE COMPLIED AND CONTACTED DEP ON 133.0 AS INSTRUCTED. WE WERE TOLD RADAR CONTACT AND TO CLB TO 14000 FT. WE PROCEEDED ON COURSE AND WHEN WE WERE AT 14000 FT AND 10 MI N OF JUMPR WE HEARD OUR CALL SIGN REQUESTED ON 121.5 (GUARD) WE WERE MONITORING ON OUR #2 VHF. WE SPOKE WITH 133.0 AGAIN AND HE CTLR SAID SHE DIDN'T HAVE US AND TO STATE POS. WE WERE GIVEN ZBW FREQ AND ALL ELSE WAS UNEVENTFUL. PROB - WE WERE ISSUED THE WRONG DEP CTL FREQ BY CLRNC DELIVERY. THERE WERE NO CONFLICTS WITH OTHER TFC AND OUR TCASII WAS WORKING PROPERLY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 543744: THE (BOS) CTLR SAID SHE WAS NOT RECEIVING OUR XPONDER; WE CHKED AND REPLIED THAT IT WAS ON. SHE THEN ANNOUNCED 'RADAR CONTACT' AND CLRED US TO 14000 FT; OR SO WE BELIEVED. 10 NM N OF JUMPR INTXN (ESTIMATE) WE RECEIVED A CALL ON GUARD FROM PROVIDENCE TRACON. WE TOLD PROVIDENCE TRACON THAT WE WERE BEING WORKED ON 133.0 THAT WE'D GOTTEN FROM CLRNC DELIVERY. WE THEN CALLED ON 133.0; MENTIONED THE CALL ON GUARD; THE CTLR (133.0) SAID SHE WASN'T WORKING US AND ASKED WHERE WE WERE. SHE GAVE US A ZBW FREQ; REMAINDER OF FLT TO PHC UNEVENTFUL. COULD HAVE/SHOULD HAVE CHKED CLRNC DELIVERY FREQ AGAINST ARPT DIAGRAM.
