Narrative
THERE IS A TWR ABOUT 1/2 MILE OR LESS TO THE RIGHT OF CENTERLINE OF RWY 6 AT MHT THAT IS ABOUT 500 FT TALL AND IS NOT DEPICTED ON ANY CHART OR NOTAM. MAYBE 2 MILES FROM THRESHOLD. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A HAZARD TO AIR NAVIGATION. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR REITERATED CONCERN ABOUT THE HAZARD POTENTIAL OF THE TWR/TWRS; ESPECIALLY DURING A NON ROUTINE OCCURRENCE; LIKE AN ENG FAILURE; WHERE STRAYING OFF THE CENTERLINE IS A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY. DEPARTURES FROM RWY 24; ARE NOT EXEMPT FOR THE SAME REASON. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO: A 'KMHT' TWR SPECIALIST REVEALED; THE TWR OBSERVED BY THE RPTR IS A 'RADIO ANTENNA' TWR. (IT'S DEPICTED ON THE NEW YORK SECTIONAL AS BEING A 'GROUP OBSTRUCTION;' WITH AN MSL ELEVATION OF 548 FT) ITS LOCATION IS APPROX 1.5 TO 2 MILES FROM THE ARPT; (BTWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE RIVER) AND IS KNOWN TO HAVE EXISTED FOR AT LEAST 10 TO 12 YRS. NOTE: DURING OUR DISCUSSION THE 609 FOOT OBSTRUCTION; DEPICTED ON THE COMMERCIAL CHARTS FOR ALL THREE APCHES TO RWY 6; WAS BROUGHT UP. ACCORDING TO THE SPECIALIST THIS OBSTRUCTION DOES NOT EXIST AND IS NOT DEPICTED ON THE NEW YORK SECTIONAL.
