B737 CREW TAXIING FOR TKOF AT CYYZ; CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR THEIR DEP RWY.

Narrative

WE WERE TAXIING TO RWY 23 FOR TKOF. FROM TXWY H; TURNED R ONTO TXWY Q. REALIZED THAT HOLD LINE FOR RWY 23 WAS AT ENTRANCE TO TXWY Q; SO STOPPED. NOSE OF ACFT WENT OVER HOLD LINE (APPROX 25 FT OF ACFT WENT OVER HOLD LINE). TXWY Q IS DEPICTED AS A PARALLEL TXWY TO RWY 23; BUT SLANTS TOWARD IT; SO THIS IS PROBABLY WHY HOLD LINE IS ON THE PARALLEL TXWY Q. NO ACFT WERE LNDG DURING THIS TIME AND A DASH 8 WAS IN POS ON RWY 23 AT INTXN H; SO THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT. WE DID NOT ENTER RWY 23 UNTIL LATER CLRED; BUT AT THIS TIME DID PARTIALLY CROSS THE HOLD LINE (WHICH; AGAIN; IS ON THE PARALLEL). I HAD JUST READ FROM THE COMMERCIAL CHART PAGE THAT THE HOLD LINE WAS AT THE ENTRANCE TO TXWY Q; BUT WHEN WE GOT THERE AND THE DASH 8 WAS MAKING AN INTXN TKOF FROM TXWY H; I ASKED THE FO IF OUR TKOF DATA WAS FOR FULL LENGTH OR TXWY H. AS HE WAS CHKING; THIS TOOK HIM OUT OF THE LOOP; AND FOR SOME REASON IT DIDN'T REGISTER ABOUT THE UNUSUAL HOLD LINE UNTIL I COMMITTED TO THE TURN. I STOPPED AND WE WEREN'T ACTUALLY CLOSE TO THE RWY; BUT THE TWR CTLR SEEMED CONCERNED (A COUPLE MINS LATER) WHEN SHE CLRED US ON THE RWY AND FOR TKOF. PERSONALLY; I FEEL SAFETY WAS NOT COMPROMISED BUT AM FILING THIS RPT FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 552409: WE WERE TAXIING OUT FOR TKOF ON RWY 23. WE WERE FOLLOWING AN ACR Y FLT. WE HAD PLANNED FOR A FULL LENGTH TKOF. ACR Y WAS GIVEN THE INTXN TKOF AT TXWY J/H. THE CAPT SUGGESTED I GET THE DATA FOR THIS. I WENT HEADS DOWN AND PULLED THE INFO FROM ACARS. TWR THEN CALLED AND SAID WE CROSSED THE HOLD LINE; BUT TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 23. WE WERE AWARE OF THE LOCATION BEFORE TAXIING; BUT I SHOULD HAVE WATCHED FOR THE LINE; NOT THE DATA. CAUSE WAS IMPROPER ATTN ON MY PART AND DISTR ON THE CAPT'S PART.
