A B737-500 CREW; UPON LNDG AT CYYZ IN MODERATE RAIN; EXPERIENCED 2 BLOWN TIRES.

Narrative

LNDG YYZ AT NIGHT; IFR; IN MODERATE HVY RAIN (TSTMS); GUSTY WINDS; LOC RWY 24R YYZ. (RWY 24R NOT GROOVED.) NORMAL TOUCHDOWN (AUTOBRAKES); APPLIED REVERSE THRUST RESULTED IN DIMINISHED DIRECTIONAL CTL. CAME OUT OF REVERSE; APPLIED MANUAL BRAKING -- BRAKING NOW ALMOST DIMINISHED. APPLIED COMBINATION OF REVERSE THRUST; RUDDER; AND BRAKING TO KEEP ACFT ON CTRLINE. AS ACFT SLOWED TO APPROX 10 KTS; IT SKIDDED SIDEWAYS TO A STOP. DUE TO FREQ CONGESTION AND POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH LNDG ACFT; I ELECTED TO MANEUVER THE ACFT ONTO TXWY C4 (APPROX 20 FT AWAY). ALL APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS COMPLETED. REQUESTED TWR SEND EQUIP. NO EVAC NECESSARY. PAX DEPLANED ACFT VIA AIRSTAIRS TO BUSSES. POSTFLT; CREW PUT GEAR PINS IN. NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO ACFT NOTED; EXCEPT 2 FLAT TIRES ON THE #1 AND #2 MAIN TIRES (TIRES APPEAR TO HAVE REVERTED RUBBER DAMAGE). ATC NEEDS TO ADVISE FLC OF PERTINENT FLT AND RWY INFO THAT COULD IMPACT SAFETY OF FLT (ESPECIALLY WHEN NOT ON ATIS). IN PLANNING; WE MAY HAVE SELECTED MAX BRAKING ON ANTISKID SYS IF WE HAD THAT INFO.
