B737-300 MECH DID NOT RECONNECT THE STATIC SYS TO THE STANDBY AIRSPD AND STANDBY ALTIMETER AFTER STANDBY ATTITUDE REPLACEMENT.
Narrative
ORIGINAL DISCREPANCY WAS A STANDBY ATTITUDE INDICATOR INOP. MYSELF AND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN STARTED WORKING THE PROB AT THE START OF LATE NIGHT SHIFT. AFTERNOON SHIFT HAD WORKED THE PROB THE SHIFT BEFORE. THEY HAD REMOVED THE PHASE ADAPTER IN LOWER NOSE COMPARTMENT AND THE P2-1 PANEL IN THE COCKPIT TO FACILITATE TROUBLESHOOTING; ALL OF WHICH WAS PROPERLY DOCUMENTED IN THE TURNOVER RPT. WE REPAIRED THE PROB WITH THE STANDBY ATTITUDE INDICATOR. I REINSTALLED THE PHASE ADAPTER AND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE P2-1 PANEL. I SIGNED OFF THE LOGBOOK AND TURNOVER RPT; THAT ALL ITEMS HAD BEEN C/W AND OPS CHKED. LATER THAT DAY; PLT WROTE UP 'STANDBY AIRSPD ALTIMETER APPEARS INOP.' CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS 'RECONNECTED LINES ON INDICATOR.' THE TECHNICIAN WHO REINSTALLED THE P2-1 PANEL SAID HE DID NOT SPECIFICALLY RECALL RECONNECTING THE PLT/STATIC LINES TO THE INDICATOR. THERE ARE MANY GAUGES ON THE P2-1 PANEL AND MAYBE IN A HURRY TO COMPLETE THE JOB HE MISSED THE HOSES. I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE IF HE DID OR DIDN'T CONNECT THE HOSES; BUT IT APPEARS THAT WAY. SO I REALLY HAVE NO OTHER HUMAN PERFORMANCE CONSIDERATIONS TO ADD. I HAVE WORKED MANY YRS WITH THIS TECHNICIAN. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST TECHNICIANS I HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO WORK WITH. I WOULD HAVE NO PROB SIGNING OFF ANY WORK ACCOMPLISHED BY HIM; NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
