A SUPPLEMENTAL CARRIER CREW; WHILE TAXIING TO THE GATE AT BUR; STRAYED OFF THE TAXI LINE CAUSING RWY ENCROACHMENT.

Narrative

LANDED RWY 8. STOPPED PAST GATE LOCATED AT MAIN TERMINAL. TAXIED S OF RWY 8 HEADED W TO MAKE A 120 DEG L TURN INTO GATE. TO AVOID EQUIP THAT LOOKS VERY CLOSE ON THE L BY THE TERMINAL; MADE A SMALL R TURN JUST PRIOR TO THE L TURN. AT THE GATE GND CTL ASKED ME TO CALL THEM. THEY SAID THAT FOR FURTHER REF I SHOULD KNOW THAT ANY TURN TO THE N OF THE TAXI LINE PAINTED ON THE RAMP CAN CAUSE THE ACFT WING TO ENCROACH UPON THE RWY. THIS INFO IS NOT NOTED IN ANY COMPANY OR NOTAM INFO I HAVE SEEN. NOT ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM EITHER. THIS SHOULD BE AT LEAST IN THESE LOCATIONS AS WELL AS ATIS; AND TAXI INSTRUCTION BY THE TWR/GND CTLRS. BETTER WOULD BE NOT TO USE RWY 8; IE; FOR TKOF OR LNDG UNTIL THE TWR OPERATOR OBSERVES THE INBOUND ACFT POINTED INTO THE GATE AND CLR OF THE RWY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH TWR SPECIALIST REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: IN CONVERSATION WITH A BUR TWR SPECIALIST IT WAS REVEALED; AS ACFT CLR RWY 8; CREWS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN ON THE 'TXWY CTRLINE' (TAXI LANE) OR RUN THE RISK OF INFRINGING ON THE RWY SAFETY AREA. CREWS WHO DEVIATE N OF THE TAXI LANE ARE INFORMED BY ATC; AS A FUTURE REF REMINDER; OF THE RWY ENCROACHMENT.
